Critic Reviews for DOOM + DOOM II
DOOM + DOOM II packaged id Software's classics, threw in a couple of additional settings, two OST remakes, a couple of minor improvements here and there, and some tasty, tasty mod support. All that kind of makes this the best port available right now, but it will be hard to convince anyone but diehard DOOM funs to spend any money if already in possession of this legendary FPS duo. Then again if DOOM and DOOM II is in your library, than there's no price-tag attached.
I’ll be brief because there’s not a lot else that needs to be said: it’s a Nightdive remaster of the first two Doom games, and you already know what that means. Those games now look better than ever, run like a dream, and have been tinkered to near perfection. I have a few complaints regarding lighting effects and the clunky weapon selection system, but that doesn’t make this package any less exciting. Featuring every single previously released expansion, plus a brand new campaign and even mod support, the lasting appeal is endless. Those brand new Doom remasters are simply amazing, and you should play them right now.
DOOM 1 + 2 is the definitive edition of the masterpiece created by id Software, and fruit of the genius of John Carmack and John Romero. The list of updates is enormous: support for modern resolutions, achievements, multiplayer... You name it. It's time to return to Mars and exterminate the infernal hordes!

Doom + Doom II is simply one of the best video game compilations around and is an excellent tribute (both for seasoned gamers and those who have never had a chance to play the aforementioned titles) to id Software's legendary shooter created back in 1993. In short, Doom and Doom II represent, even today (and thanks to the juicy new additions), two wonderful and timeless FPSs!

BUY IT! Seriously, I'm not kidding. Ten letters and an exclamation mark, plus having written it six times already, should be enough to convince you to spend 9.99 Euros on Doom + Doom II. If you don't, you might as well throw your console in the trash. Opening your wallet will get you two of the best video games ever created, in their most complete edition ever. To partially quote an old print review from the original release: if you don't like Doom + Doom II, you don't understand video games.
