Critic Reviews for Throne and Liberty

Throne and Liberty delivers impressive character progression systems, buttery smooth and satisfying combat, and captivating story for an MMORPG. It may lack a few features to keep me coming back again and again for more, but it's a thoroughly enjoyable experience

NCSoft is back with a brave and free MMORPG that still has to polish some elements, especially in its console version.

There's no denying that Throne and Liberty is a visual treat and certainly one of the best looking MMORPGs to come along in some time. Furthermore, though its massive world event battles impress, as does its innovative take on shapeshifting traversal, Throne and Liberty's flair-free combat, banal quest design and cluttered UI all weigh down a genre effort that deserves better.

I really enjoy Throne and Liberty’s colorful world, detailed environments, and engaging combat. Though the story is pretty uninspired, the game is technically polished and that alone is worthy of praise. But as a primarily solo player, the game isn’t for me in the long run. That’s not really a criticism, because being built for groups isn’t a bug, it’s a feature. That was true back at the dawn of MMORPGs and sometimes it’s still true. I think Throne and Liberty has a lot of promise to succeed at launch and grow beyond it.

Throne and Liberty might end up being a fine MMORPG in the long term, but currently, it has little in the way of new or interesting ideas to draw players away from other heavyweights in the genre.

Throne and Liberty is an action mmorpg focused on building guilds and fighting for control of the world of Solisium with interesting ideas for the genre.

Throne and Liberty delivers a visually stunning experience with a wide variety of content and large-scale events. Its flexible combat system and solid optimization make it accessible to a broad range of players. While the vertical progression could pose a challenge for new players and there are still some monetization aspects, the game strikes a good balance between accessibility for newcomers and depth for veterans, establishing itself as a strong contender in the MMO genre.
