Alan Wake 2: The Lake House Reviews
Alan Wake 2: The Lake House highlights the best parts of the base game. While there are some frustrating choices with certain enemies and weapons, the gameplay loop, narrative, and visual design are all brilliant. Further, the fantastic thesis statement at the heart of the DLC, as well as the numerous allusions to what the developers have planned next, will keep many fans hooked from beginning to end.
Alan Wake 2's second DLC succeeds in replicating the main game's pacing and style in a new setting by offering some interesting creative cues. Still, on the other hand, it fails to add anything of substance to the original experience and to provide longevity that lives up to expectations. A content that's more interesting for Control lovers than AW2 fans, but still worth playing since it's a key piece of Remedy Entertainment's narrative universe.

Filled to the brim with fun references and teaser moments for Control 2, Lake House is the perfect experience for Remedy fans.
The Lake House DLC is another success from Remedy. After the previous quite diverse DLC, we get a full return to the horror vibe, and it's quite a successful return. The DLC is an interesting and sadly brief return to familiar themes from Control, while mixing mechanics from Alan Wake 2. The DLC is at the same time a gateway to the upcoming Control 2, which I am strongly looking forward to.

Both The Lake House and the Night Springs DLC packs feel like slightly flawed but well deserved victory laps for this long-in-development project.
The Lake House brings a satisfying conclusion to Remedy's Alan Wake 2 saga, offering an engaging story that blends elements of Control with Alan Wake 2's gameplay. While not without its flaws, particularly in its puzzle design, The Lake House is an essential piece of the overall Remedyverse narrative and a must-play for fans of Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy franchises.

Alan Wake: The Lake House is a disappointing finale to the game’s content. It was released alongside a solid quality-of-life update, and if you have already spent the extra money on the Deluxe Edition/Upgrade then you might as well check this one out. Just use a guide to keep frustration down.
