Critic Reviews for Path of Fury - Episode I: Tetsuo's Tower
If you've always wanted to emulate a kung-fu action movie actor and have a few pounds to lose, you've come to the right place. There's a bit of repetition and an anachronistic rail setup to digest, but beating one bad guy after another relentlessly is a challenge that will test you both physically and mentally. Just like the real kung-fu masters admired in the movies, yes.

Path of Fury – Episode I: Tetsuo’s Tower from developer Leonard Menchiari is a wonderful and beautifully brutal VR experience. It delivers accuracy, a good brawling environment, and makes use of Meta Quest’s tech well. The only hiccups are repetitive enemies and sometimes visuals. Both can be forgiven with its brawling gameplay that comes straight from the best 90s fighting games.
Path of Fury is a very active game that will give you a serious workout given that the game is all about patience and perseverance. You can't go into it randomly punching; you need to be accurate and agile. The game takes full advantage of large playing spaces since you need to turn around and fully extend your arms if you want to use the game's mechanics properly. When the game works, it works really well, with you feeling like a martial arts master. When the game doesn't work due to odd inconsistencies with character placement, it is discouraging and can feel like an idle endeavor. This arcade-like game is snappy and flows deftly and while this is just episode 1, there is plenty of content here to mess around with. If you are a fan of action flicks or old-school martial arts movies, then picking up Path of Fury – Episode 1: Tetsuo's Tower is a no brainer.
Path of Fury - Episode I: Tetsuo's Tower is a thrilling experience that makes good on its promise to test a player's endurance.
There is no shortage of rage from a person thirsty for revenge. Forge a Path of Fury, and show enemies how strong your kung-fu is. Overall, Path of Fury – Episode I: Tetsuo’s Tower is amazing when you focus solely on the story and fighting parts of the game.
It may not be heavy on the narrative, save for a few interspersed cutscenes, but the star attraction of Path of Fury – Episode I: Tetsuo’s Tower is the engaging combat. It gets you into the action quickly and almost seamlessly, and has enough of a challenge to push you further and higher. Even if you are not chasing a high score or trying to find a new fitness routine, every run in Tetsuo’s Tower will inevitably lead down those paths, and it is extremely satisfying every time.
