Trident's Tale

Critic Reviews for Trident's Tale
Trident's Tale is a clunky adventure that has plenty of charm and variety so I still recommend it to curious chums who enjoy similar games. đŸ”±
Trident’s Tale is filled with strong ideas and pirate charm, but it’s not ready for prime time, at least not on Nintendo Switch. The technical issues are too glaring to ignore, from the blurry textures to the frame drops and janky animations. If a few substantial patches come down the line, or if the game sees a better-optimised release on other platforms or a potential Switch 2, this could become the fun, breezy adventure it clearly wants to be. Until then, consider holding off or checking it out elsewhere if possible. There’s a good game under the surface, but right now it’s buried under too many waves of performance problems.
With Trident’s Tale being a weird mix of kid-friendly writing that at times made me feel like I was watching an episode of Blue’s Clues and a difficult combat loop, this could be the perfect family game. Trident’s Tale could be a great introduction for kids looking to try their hand at an action game without the grim tones that usually come with piracy. Unfortunately, for this reviewer, the charm of the cute art style and awkward dialogue wore off.
With a very good exploration, naval combat, and some other very commendable elements, you'll find a lot to enjoy in Trident's Tale
It’s not a good game – and again, the voice acting and cutscenes and script are abysmal – but on the whole it’s not interesting enough to generate really strong feelings. It’s a bad game that’s also incredibly boring, which is just about the worst combination imaginable.
Dragged down a little by the perfunctory combat, Trident’s Tale is nonetheless a fun pirate adventure that nails the visuals, tonal balance, and jaunty music. It feels like an adventure, and the quirky cast of characters that you’ll meet combined with the charm of the world makes Trident’s Tale a title we at GF recommend to everyone out there… except landlubbers!
Trident's Tale is a pretty fun time. It's a fun swashbuckling adventure that plays like a Saturday morning cartoon. The characters are fairly likeable with mixed performances, but the ship combat and fights our hero, Ocean, will have are likely where people are going to get the most out of this game, even if they lack polish and features to make them stand out.
