The Red Bell’s Lament is another example of Voltage offering a great otome game that feels different than what we’d expect due to its execution and story.
I think that if they had given more depth to the characters, especially Juliet, the game would be more enjoyable to play. A more real protagonist with a more natural romantic development between her and her romantic interests would completely change the final tone of the story. But the lack of charm is critical, giving us a game like a beautiful plate of food where the chef forgot to add salt while cooking the meal.
