Reka is really fun when it clicks, but it’s got some rough spots for sure. Fortunately, they don’t completely detract from the experience, and instead feel like odd idiosyncrasies. For fans of base builders, unique cultural representation, or exploration games in general, this is an easy one to recommend.

Reka is a delight and may catch people off guard with how chill and cozy it can be, especially due to the darker tones to its aesthetic and visuals.

REKA is a bold, gothic, witchy crafting game that knows its audience and faithfully delivers the world that audience wants to play around in. Some aspects of the game are a bit repetitive, and the game is a bit short with not a lot of replay value, but if you are enchanted by the world it has to offer, you won’t really notice. It especially shines through its building mechanics, which feature some incredible quality-of-life choices I wish more base-building games would adopt.

REKA is a promising game for those who appreciate tranquil atmospheres infused with mythology and a relaxing gameplay experience. Despite some technical limitations, the evocative setting and the opportunity to explore a world inspired by Slavic myths make it unique. With further improvements in performance and greater ease of use in the building mechanics, REKA has all the potential to become a standout title among simulation and adventure games.

REKA is not a game that is going to shatter the very fabric of gaming as we know it. But you know what? That’s OK, because I still loved what I played and it provided such a unique view into a world of folklore that I was very unfamiliar with. The bittersweet story of Baba Jaga and Reka, coupled with some truly “deeper than it looks” customization to your home, will give a little something for everyone.

There is no doubt that REKA is a game with great potential, but for now it is like a cherry tree that has yet to show its colors to the world: little content and little fun.

Reka may not be at the best of times, because in this genre, the titles have multiplied at the end of the year. Some defects of conception, a budget not up to his classmates but a DA, a theme and a rest proposed to the player who distinguishes it from these same comrades. Question of tastes and desires, like every game ? Not much, more in the case of Reka.

There is no denying the potential and beauty of Reka, despite its current roughness. Subtly woven into the world's story and gathering mechanics alike is the game's central message of balance, which is to give back to the earth as much as you take. The world is diverse and interesting, and the Slavic-influenced mythology makes for an almost dreamlike mystical gaming experience. Bugs are a major problem that can ruin an otherwise interesting experience, and while the sandbox/building parts are entertaining, they could use some more work.
