Yes, a campaign mode and a few quality-of-life tweaks would make it even stronger, but the foundations here are solid. From its delightful soundscape and inviting art style to its satisfying loop of daytime planning and nighttime panic, Becastled offers hours of fun. It’s a game that makes you smile even as your walls crumble and your villagers scream. If you’ve ever wanted a cosier take on medieval defence, Becastled is absolutely worth your time.
With RTS elements, Becastled mixes city-building by day with Tower Defense by night, feeling like an original and fresh game, thanks also to its low-poly style.

Becastled surprised me. What started as “just another survival-builder” ended up being one of those games I kept thinking about even after putting it down. The tutorial could use work, and handheld players might struggle with the text, but there’s something undeniably fun about its blend of calm strategy and nighttime battles. If you enjoy games like Kingdom: Two Crowns but want something meatier and more hands-on, this is well worth your time. It’s cozy, it’s challenging, and built to last many gamer sessions.
