Desert Race Adventures

Critic Reviews for Desert Race Adventures
I love the idea; and the tone, visuals, and music are all up to par, creating an accessible game, but I can’t imagine it would hold plyers’ interest for more than a couple of hours. That said, at a fiver, it’s a great way to spend an evening, and has put the studio on the map for me, with their esoteric take on the rally genre!
With its excellent pixel art and slick UI, Desert Race Adventures makes a great first impression. Unfortunately, this light management strategy game runs out of gas far too quickly. With frustrating gameplay that relies too heavily on a limited set of random events and minimal variance from run to run, there’s simply not enough to justify playing beyond a few attempts.
Desert Race Adventures is just a more modern take on Oregon Trail ... nothing more , nothing less . The game succeeds as a modern spin on Oregon Trail, trading wagons and rivers for engines and sand while keeping the heart of the classic experience alive. It offers a charming road trip through danger and discovery, wrapped in retro style and supported by thoughtful design. It is nothing more and nothing less, and that clarity is what makes the ride so enjoyable.
