Critic Reviews for Minecraft Dungeons II
Minecraft Dungeons 2 is a shallow ARPG sequel that provides a few evenings of mindless dungeon delving fun, but not much beyond that.
Where Minecraft Dungeons was a charming introduction to the dungeon-crawler genre, Dungeons 2 builds a deeper action-RPG within the same familiar, blocky framework.
Minecraft Dungeons II is an action-RPG that's basically a Diablo-lite, rather than the Dragon Quest Builders type of game one might expect.
Minecraft Dungeons 2 adds some mechanical changes alongside a new open-world format, making for a distinctly different sequel. It's a simple, bare-bones ARPG with a strong co-op experience that's currently let down by some technical hitches. Those jumping in at launch will likely be the established fanbase of either the franchise or the popular first Dungeons entry. Anyone else after a deep or challenging ARPG is unlikely to be won over.
The Sift is a gorgeous and intriguing new dimension for players to explore and learn. Still, that doesn’t stop some of the issues with build crafting and repetitive gameplay from coming up fairly consistently.
Minecraft fans will also enjoy it (if they're young, a little help from their parents is recommended), and even fans of "Diablolike" will find challenges to match in the more demanding parts of this adventure.

Minecraft Dungeons II is a perfectly tuned sequel, taking everything that the first game got right, and expanding, revising and improving on it.
Minecraft Dungeons 2 is a great game night idea, but just make sure your party's all gathered under one roof first.
