Lost Castle 2 Reviews
Lost Castle 2 is an excellent example of a beat’em’up roguelite done right. It has very good combat and the progression system is rewarding. It makes sense for you to grind for new stuff and upgrades, because those will help you in the midst of the battle. The co-op is amazing too, and I feel that’s where the game shines the most.
Lost Castle 2 is a very fun beat ’em up roguelite and even more fun as a coop title. An easy recommendation for something to play with family and mates, especially if they come over.
The story is engaging, and the gameplay, along with the overall atmosphere, is captivating. I plan to keep this game in my rotation as my go-to for roguelikes.
Lost Castle 2 is a testament to Hunter Studio and the iteration they’ve been able to implement since the original. I play a lot of roguelites, and the worst are filled with RNG that results in nothing but wasted time. In the best, you’ll encounter cool items, become overpowered provided you play your cards right, and be offered substantive and fun choices. Whether solo or in a group, Lost Castle 2 is an experience that should fit right into your gaming time. I know the word “roguelite” can scare some people, but there’s a lot of beat ‘em up gameplay here to enjoy as well, whether you had that experience in the 90s like me or later.
Lost Castle 2 doesn’t reinvent the roguelite formula, but it does it well. It focuses on delivering satisfying combat, a mountain of loot, strong progression systems, and enough variety to make each run feel fresh. The combat is responsive, the loot is rewarding, and the steady stream of unlocks gives you plenty of reasons to keep coming back. A few balancing issues and some overly dense item descriptions stop it from being perfect, but they’re small complaints in what is otherwise a very enjoyable experience. Whether you’re a fan of the original game or completely new to the series, Lost Castle 2 is an easy recommendation for players who enjoy action-focused roguelites.
