Transport Fever 3 is a wonderful new addition to the series. With more vehicles, improved graphics, more user-friendly interface, and a modding scene that’s already impressive, I’ve had an absolute blast playing TF3 – and those measly 74 hours I’ve managed to squeeze in over the weekends and late at night are just the beginning. It’s just a shame that, although the game looks lovely, it runs a touch poorly. I really wanted to give it a 9/10, but I simply couldn’t with such severe frame rate drops on high-end hardware.

Seven years after its predecessor, Urban Games has delivered a big step forward with «Transport Fever 3». The switch from the old interface and rules takes some getting used to, but after a few hours I was back in tinkering mode. I like that «Transport Fever 3» is no longer a guaranteed money-maker thanks to its high purchase and maintenance costs. The added challenge means I have to keep a close eye on problematic lines and sometimes radically restructure my company to get my finances back on track. New features like landmarks, industry boosters and road lane management round out the game’s revamped approach to transport management.

With Transport Fever 3, Urban Games has delivered a transportation game that focuses on giving players freedom. Although it took me a while to really get into it, since the menus and the sheer freedom can feel a bit overwhelming at first, the progression is brilliantly designed.

Transport Fever 3 has everything that makes the series what it is. Cities grow as a result of your own efforts, and the constant process of rebuilding and modernizing remains as motivating as ever. The new visuals and additional content make the game well worth playing for fans of the series. However, the game is currently held back by stuttering, freezes, and crashes that can cost you progress. Hopefully, Urban Games will address these issues quickly.
