Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride Reviews
Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride is proof that Artifex Mundi is trying to make all of their games seem different even if they do share similar gameplay mechanics. The domino games provide an alternative for those tiring of scouring the screen for small objects, but the inability to undo mistakes means that most players will stick to what they know. Despite this, adventure fans shouldn't pass up the chance of another easy completion even if it involves two playthroughs instead of one. For those who don't normally play this type of game, Grim Legends, or any Artifex Mundi game for that matter, continues to be a great starting point for their entry into the genre.
The absolute highlight of the game’s graphics is the kitten; cute, cuddly and playful in its movements.
Another great title from Artifex Mundi which sets the bar really, really high. The best game from this developer on PlayStation 4. And most important - game is priced perfectly.

If you like your games to be a little more taxing, you won’t find anything here that will push your limits
All in all, I have had a blast playing Grim Legends: The Foresaken Bride. Once I completed the main game, I unlocked an extra story which was certainly a pleasant surprise! There's plenty to do in this game and lots of puzzles to solve, not to mention that being able to play the dominoes game instead of the hidden objects puzzles will make it so that anyone can enjoy the game's story and setting. I'm sure being able to skip puzzles is also a big plus for some of you, but you'll have to remember you'll lock yourself out of the Platinum trophy and will need to do a second run if you want it.
One, hidden object scenes; on this front, Grim Legends was slightly lacking. On all other fronts, it was a resounding success. The story was familiar yet contained enough freshness to make it interesting, the hand-painted backgrounds were drool-worthy, the puzzles were a good balance on the fun-challenging scale, and whenever I was in a pinch there was a cat to help me out. What more can a girl ask for?!
Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride clicked with me pretty easily. The game’s puzzles gave my brain a nice workout without ever becoming too complicated. While this release might not be for everyone, there’s definitely a large enough group of you out there that is going to love this release! Aside from the improvements needed on cut-scenes and voice acting, Artifex Mundi is doing a good job with these PS4 adventure releases.
Games like Grim Legends seem to resonate more toward those that own tablets, PC’s and smartphones. Not that I believe it doesn’t belong on consoles, it just seemed like a chore to play with buttons and analog instead of a touch or click option.
Overall, I had plenty of fun with my time searching for Lilly and uncovering the mysteries of the village. This game does enough right to be worthy of playing. It’s not too long to outstay its welcome, even if you decide to 100% it, and there’s value to be had should you decide to take the plunge and find out the oddities of the land for yourself.
If you’re a puzzle fan this game will be right up your street. If you like fantasy/fairytale games & stories you should definitely consider giving this a go. If, like me, you’re a fan of both then you’ll have double the fun if you decide this is a game you can’t go without playing any longer.
Grim Legends The Forsaken Bride suffers from poorly written dialogue. The artwork is richly detailed, and it's the saving grace of the experience
