If you want to see a great example of a new twist on a classic genre, 99Vidas won’t disappoint.

Caveman Warriors is an extremely well balanced, colorful, and most importantly, fun game with charming characters and a beautiful world and I’ll most likely replay it with friends a few times over.

Puzzle games are everywhere. Is this newest PS4 offering a worthy investment?

If you’re looking for a more casual LIMBO-stye game, this is certainly one I can recommend, because, after further evaluation, this is pretty much what Toby is going for in my estimation. A simpler, more accessible, friendlier LIMBO. It’s not a bad game. If, however, you’re like me and looking for a more core game like the former, this won’t hit those marks, though it could be a worthy play down the line with a sale, or if you just need more of these kinds of games in your library right now.

Yes, I think this is absolutely something you should buy, but that comes with a huge caveat. I thought the story and situations were great. I think the engine needs to go. Yesterday. Were it not for the technical side, this would have been rated much higher.

Aside from Telltale's usual "I don't want to fight, but you're making me" scene, New World Order is light on the Bat-beatings, with subtle hints about what may happen to our Caped Crusader in Guardian of Gotham. It ends on one amazing cliffhanger with huge reveals that are sure to have you talking for weeks after finishing it. The twist was a grand one that I genuinely have to applaud Telltale for. Good job.

Batman - The Telltale Series - Episode 5: City of Light is boring and finishes off before it even gets good - leaving me fairly dissapointed at the outcome of the Season. On the other hand, I did like the new folds it brought to Bruce's relationships with the people who surround him - as Bruce or Batman. Those relationships aren't the key to this Season Finale unfortunately, but Telltale did do a pretty good job at making what you do get out of it entertaining. I hope Telltale gets a Season Two of Batman - The Telltale Series, because I'd sure like to see more.

Batman: The Telltale Series — Episode Two: Children of Arkham is ultimately dispiriting, as a follow up to the amazing Season Premiere cliffhanger and fails at following that up with a sorry payoff to Episode One. A lot of the Episode feels rushed and underutilized, making it nigh impossible to dive back into the dichotomy of the mask of Bruce contrasting with the true face of Bruce, Batman. The vision for the Season does become quite clear after this Finale, but as a standalone, it fails to stand on its own two feet.

I like a lot about Yesterday Origins, however, there’s just as much bogging it down as I enjoyed. As it stands, I praise the really good bits highly, but the low ones, well, they creep up far too often. I do recommend the game, though I think if you’re not already a huge fan of the genre, you may want to wait to see if the bigger, more “game-breaking” issues get fixed before you jump in.

I absolutely adore this game. It plays great, it’s really fun and funny, and doesn’t outlast it’s welcome. What it does, it does very well and kept me engaged the entire time. If you’re looking for a smaller adventure in the vain of classics like pre-Ocarina of Time Zelda and The Secret of Mana, you will find what you’re looking for here. Don’t pass this one up.

All things considered, I do think this is one of Telltale's better episodes, even if the illusion of choice quickly fades away with failed QTEs and a story we're no longer in control of.

At the end of the day, I can’t really say I wasn’t heavily disappointed with what Nebulous offered me. I was excited to throw down, but once I did, I found myself bored, frustrated, and sad, often at the same time. Not good. I was hoping they’d fix some of the issues with patches post launch, and while I did see at least one come through, it didn’t do anything I could notice. Such a shame, because this could have been a huge hit with me. Maybe they’ll fine tune it even more by the time VR hits, but, I’m not jumping on that bandwagon, so this has to be it for me. /sadface.jpeg

You see, Mankind Divided is what Human Revolution should've been, it just took Eidos Montreal five years to get there.

I would recommend this game to everyone, especially fans of the genre (any of them on display). There’s enough here to warrant at least one run through, and you could definitely make the argument of 100% completion to go through it again to keep everyone alive and mop up anything else you may have missed. Yeah, the game has flaws, but these are the kind I’m willing to overlook for the story, and developer Do My Best Games probably did do their best, and I appreciate it.

Virginia was a wild ride, that’s for sure. If you’re a fan of the genre you’d probably be angry with yourself for missing out on this game. If you’re just looking for an offbeat, kind of wacky mystery, you’ll find something here, too.

The bottom line on The Huntsman: Winter’s Curse is this: I liked it. Was it incredible? No. Was it entertaining? Yes. It kept my interest the whole time and even though I found a lot of the story predictable and cliched, I still didn’t feel like I was let down in any huge way. If you’re looking to add to the lore of the franchise, you should pick this up at some point. If you’re just looking for a quick-ish, non-traditional traditional RPG, you’ll likely get your money’s worth here.

For the price, unless you have some sort of crazy bias against casual games, there's no reason to let this one stay out of your library. You'll be glad you have it. King Oddball is a blast and you should be playing it right now.

A- - Hue

Hue is a very enjoyable puzzle game to spend your time with. It's not overly long in the tooth and you shouldn't have too much trouble finishing it up. The story was a highlight to see through and while I wish there were more of it, I can't fault it too much, because it still hits the right notes. If you're looking for a unique puzzle game to round out your Summer, don't let this one pass you by. It's well worth your time.
