An adventure that will only appeal to people who really miss the old ways
DreamBreak is a short, relatively easy trip down memory lane for anyone who grew up playing point-and-click adventure games. While it has plenty of rough edges and won’t hold your attention for much longer than the end credits, it’s a good game to play through in an afternoon, with well-designed puzzles and surprisingly engaging combat. Just be warned that there are a lot of bugs near the end.

Dreambreak may look pretty on the outside, but peeling back its pixelated style and impressive music reveals the dull story, flat characters, lack of substance and clunky gameplay within.
DreamBreak fails to offer much because it's just so dull. Sure, the controls are bad for the most part, but that's made up for by some enjoyable, yet again, mostly boring gameplay. It never aims to be much more than a typical adventure game, and fails to even get that right thanks to its myriad of issues. Due to that, it really can't be recommended to anyone other than genre diehards, and that cousin of yours you're trying to trick out of his birthday money. "Bet you can't beat this game without throwing the controller." Don't take that bet!
Overall, Dreambreak is not a bad adventure game, but it is a short one with some flaws that might hinder your enjoyment. It features a great-looking art style but the way it is animated and how the gameplay works might not be for everyone.
Dreambreak made me loose even more appreciation for pixelated games. It's quite interesting story of Mr. Nobody in deep troubles he had little to do with, but the execution is poor, controls are bad, and it leaves a lot to be desired. It was a simple Gamerscore though...

I came out of DreamBreak really disliking the game in general while having a strong appreciation of the world it created.
Terrible controls, non-existent world-building, and all-round sloppy execution makes DreamBreak a game that even the most ardent of retro gamers would find difficult to love.
DreamBreak had the potential to be a lot more than it currently is. However, Aist design choices for mixing in rather quirky mini games that feel oddly out of place with the main game and with DreamBreak’s main portion of gameplay feeling heavily underwhelming, puzzles too obvious and the story feeling kind of shoehorned, it's hard to give it a thumbs up.
