Critic Reviews for Swim Out

Swim Out is simple and unambitious but that doesn't mean it cannot provide some hours of fun. While its minimal aesthetics and lack of plot show right away that this game is not trying to set a new landmark in storytelling, its contents and unusual approach to puzzle games are worthy of praise and can most definitely be of use to players looking for a simple and direct game of this kind.

Pacing issues notwithstanding, Swim Out succeeds when played for a few minutes here and there. It's non-linear nature (and lack of a timer) allows you to take your time with each puzzle, and easily move on to another. Puzzle enthusiasts will get a good Nintendo Switch game at a fair price, one that will exercise their brains. Just make sure to wait 30 minutes after eating before playing.

Swim Out is a fun minimalist puzzle game that offers more than enough content to justify its asking price. If you're a fan of the genre and like relaxing puzzles you can complete at your own pace, then I definitely recommend that you get Swim Out on Nintendo Switch today.

Swim Out for Nintendo Switch certainly won't rock the world in terms of its originality; however, it is definitely good at doing what it does, which is to combine great, pick-up-and-play puzzle gameplay, along with a very relaxing, summer atmosphere that will keep gamers looking for some pleasing entertainment more than satisfied.

It's not high-octane or revolutionary fare by any means, but Swim Out has a quiet beauty that gives it more in common with chess than Tetris, and that sort of thing is hard to come by nowadays.

While cool concepts and ideas are awash throughout Swim Out, the dawdling pace of the 100+ puzzles drowns the more novel ideas. This is, for better or worse, an alright puzzle game that just happens to be in a sea of better ones. Good for a laidback romp, but not for much else.
