While Syberia II isn't all that fans might have hoped for, it's still a very fine game and likely to provide you with hours of enjoyment.

Despite its ongoing technical hiccups, along with the game having done the rounds for well over a decade, it's still a worthy sequel and a good addition to the genre on Switch.

A great port that has everything that made us love the original Syberia 2... Even its technical issues.

Syberia II comes toNintendo Switch keeping the things that made it one of the best graphic adventures. A game that, even with its ups and downs, is still great nowadays.

Syberia 2 is not as good as the first game in terms of story, and this is a story-driven title. The former played out almost like a detective hunt, but here your final destination is known from the start. However it still has some memorable moments along the way, and there's some, great for its time, visuals and timeless music. Play it and get ready for part 3 to arrive on the Switch soon.

Syberia II would be a great recommendation… in the absence of Syberia. Apart from its strong atmosphere, good looks, and more-than-likable protagonist, the elements that made the original so enjoyable are mostly missing. The character development, the intense dialogue sequences that made that possible, the sense of wonder from exploring a variety of bizarre locations; these are almost nowhere to be found here. There's a bit of mystery, a little bit of interesting character interactions, and - way - more challenging puzzles to solve, but as a whole this lacks the "magic" of the first one, or at least a portion of it. This was clearly made for fans of the original, and although very far from a bad game, even many of those are unlikely to love it in the same way they loved the first instalment.

Syberia 2 is an all-round success, improving upon the port of the original adventure in many ways. The core story may take a different slant to the previous one, and some puzzles may not live up to the high bar set in the first outing, but this is still a highly enjoyable journey throughout, with everything perfectly adapted for the Nintendo Switch setup, looking great in docked mode, but working even better when played in portable form using the touch screen. Kate Walker's third escapade cannot come to Switch soon enough!

‎For anyone who absolutely loved Syberia, Syberia 2 is a great sequel. You're in the story, you're used to the controls and the atmosphere of the game, and you just want to know how it ends. For anyone who hasn't played part one, this is unfortunately an abrasion, a game that sticks too much with the previous part just won't be fun for you.‎

Syberia 2 is a lovely point-and-click adventure and fits perfectly onto the Nintendo Switch and its touchscreen controls.
