All said I was very pleasantly surprised by World Conqueror X and even impressed. While it isn’t everything this age-old Civilization fan was hoping for I realize that’s an extremely high bar for anyone to even attempt to reach. While its city management and world building are lacking it does a very respectable job of playing as a strategic World War 2 sim and is absolutely the only game in town if that sort of thing appeals to you. Add in the layer with leveling up your base units and managing various generals from throughout history and it is a pretty polished product strategy fans should check out.

World Conqueror X is a great strategy game on Nintendo Switch with a lot of content to offer to both newcomers and fans of the genre. Taking on Scenario Mode will be the best way to prepare yourself for going to war against the world in Conquest Mode, greatly extending the overall time you're going to spend playing this one. Even after I had finished writing this review, I kept coming back to the game every now and then, making some progress in my journey to rule the world. I hope you give this fun game a try soon!

World Conqueror X is surprisingly enjoyable grand strategy, even on a smaller screen of Nintendo Switch in handheld mode.

World Conqueror X is a hugely rewarding strategy game. It's not as refined or committed to the history of the conflict as the more serious wargame fans would like, but then it manages to depict the truly complex, global conflict in a streamlined, accessible, and, for the most part, authentic manner. I am beyond delighted that the Nintendo Switch has something like this on it.

World Conqueror X is a fun and challenging war game that is somewhat marred by a lack of proper tutorials and explanations. Riding out any early frustration will allow you to uncover a worthwhile strategy title that has many hours of content, albeit with not too much variation in gameplay. Turn-based games lend themselves well to Nintendo's latest console, and World Conqueror X is another excellent example. I'll say it again: war is absolutely good for Switch.

World Conqueror X is definitely a challenging release, but a fun one at that. The game isn't graphically intense, but you wouldn't expect that from a strategy release like this one. Playing docked makes it a bit harder to read the text on the TV screen, so I took this one on the go for an entertaining experience. The game offers touch controls as well which is always good to have when you're in portable or tabletop mode. If you're a fan of history-heavy strategy releases set during World War II, then you're going to love World Conqueror X and should definitely get it on Nintendo Switch today!

World Conqueror X takes turn-based strategy to a whole new level with its many modes and variety of stages. Leaning a little bit about World War II is an added bonus.

If you're looking for a more conventional strategy title to add to your Switch library, World Conqueror X is perfect for you. I think the game works best in handheld mode, as it's not boasting the most visually appealing style. It was also nice to lay down after a long day and pick the game up for a couple of scenario missions before bed. Whether on the go or nestled up at home, World Conqueror X is a pretty enjoyable strategy game and it's easy to recommend at the low price of $10.

It's not out to break new ground, but with enjoyable strategy gameplay and an appealing board game aesthetic, World Conquerer X is certainly a welcome addition to the Switch's library.
