Critic Reviews for Super Destronaut DX
If Space Invaders floats your intergalactic boat, Super Destronaut DX will definitely scratch your itch and the attempts to nudge and wink its way through your fond memories of neon lights and electro tunes are admirable. However, unless you're a high score hunter or a multiplier maniac who has had their fill of more interesting shooters or music-based games on the system like Just Shapes And Beats or Lumines Remastered, Super Destronaut DX will end up being a brief time killer, but not much else.
With nothing to keep you coming back after you've earned all the achievements, the game will sadly only be played for an hour or so before it is put back on the shelf and forgotten about.
Super Destronaut DX can bring a tribute to Space Invaders to a contemporary system. Thanks to several game modes and to classic controls, it's nearly impossible to skip. The game does it job right when it comes to intuitive controls, as well as to an updated leaderboard. Unfortunately there is not a lot to do when it comes to the game's lifespan and its price.

The DX is a difference here, making for a more enjoyable game all around. It's had a modest price increase, but still comes in at only $4.99, with enhancements to justify the cost. Super Destronaut DX is a simple, but fun game. It's not the sort that you'll play at length (to limit repetition) but it does make for an entertaining way to pass some time.
Super Destronaut DX is one hell of a retro inspired title. Be sure to pick it up if it sounds like something you'd be interested in; you won't be disappointed.
The nostalgia factor in Super Destronaut DX is very high since, as I've mentioned before, it will remind most of you of Space Invaders, which is definitely not a bad thing! The colorful art style, solid gameplay mechanics, and the shiny (double) Platinum trophy at the end of the road will keep you very happy, and you can't complain about its budget $4 price!
Online leaderboards ensures that it has a bit more longevity, something that was incredibly lacking in the Wii U game. The presentation hasn't improved too much sadly, and it is more irritating than it should be. In any case, if you are in need of an arcade style game, you can do far worse than this one.
