Critic Reviews for Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo
Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo is easily worth the launch price of $4.99. Featuring a plethora of game modes and unlockables, there is a lot of unexpected depth to this simple-looking top-down space shooter. Couple that with local co-op and competitive modes, and there's even more value to be found if you've got a gaming buddy. The challenging gameplay also ensures players will come back for just one more go. If you enjoy top-down, bullet hell inspired action, then check out Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo.
You probably won’t be thinking about it later this year once all of the big games have released, but it’s still worth a bit of your time.
Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo may have an absurd title that's hard to remember, but it's a super-fun and addictive shooter, with plenty of modes and challenges. The high difficulty will please shmup fans, pushing you to play just one more time…
Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo is a surprisingly good game. The title is designed to be difficult and played in short bursts, but along with the challenges and unlockables, it has addictive qualities that beg for just one more round to be played. The versus modes are nice, but the co-op option in every mode makes this attractive for a system that's seemingly designed for two players. While by no means a presentation powerhouse, the gameplay in SMSBST is solid enough to be worth a look, especially at its normal low price of $4.99.
Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo contains an impressive variety of modes and each one poses an enjoyable level of challenge.
Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo is a fun and simple shmup which was clearly inspired by the classic Asteroids arcade game. With another player, you have access to five gameplay modes, three as a co-op partner (which can be played in single-player) and two in face-to-face combat situations. Despite having limited progression within the game, you can purchase new ships and upgrade the power-ups you find as you destroy the various missiles and debris which are hurling towards you as you defend your Mothership or save the colony. Great for short-burst gaming which will keep you entertained for a while as you try to get better every time you die.
On paper this is a title that should be a slam dunk for me...
Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo is everything a modern classic games lover want. It controls and plays old school, but features some quality of life improvements over it's classic counterparts. It can get hectic, so it's not an easy completion.
