Hell Let Loose is not a game for everyone and it is very likely that those who are only looking for a shooter set in the Second World War may not like it. It is in fact a product designed exclusively for a hardcore audience that is not afraid of the long times that elapse between one death and another and that cannot be categorized as a simple first-person shooter.

Although Hell Let Loose can undoubtedly be improved in some aspects, the prerequisites for long-time fun are all there, as long as you're looking for a war simulator full of immersion, action, strategy and collaboration. Black Matter's WWII is harsh and unforgiving, but also stunning in its depiction of war.

Hell Let Loose is built for hardcore multiplayer shooter fans with a desire to move away from the casual and sometimes irrelevant teamwork that makes easier games well, easier. Hell Let Loose demands commitment, cooperation, and enough patience to learn the game through several hours of painful, frequent death and have a genuine willingness to contribute to a squad instead of being a lone hero. Meet these requirements and you’re in for a singular and memorable battlefield simulation.

Caveats noted, playing Hell Let Loose with a decent squad of players willing to communicate, a competent commander, and skills sufficient to the moment is a unique, exciting, and extremely rewarding first-person shooter experience, ultimately much more satisfying than the arcade shooters to which most players are accustomed. Getting to the point of real comfort with the game’s mechanics, interface and team systems takes a commitment of time and the willingness to learn from others and the game’s written material, and is definitely not for everyone. Hell Let Loose does a great job of reminding us how important teamwork, communication, and reliance on others can be, not just in war but maybe in the broader context of our lives.

Hell Let Loose is one of the best WWII shooters, certainly not suitable for everyone due to his hardcore gameplay but still rewarding if played with the right collaborative spirit.

Hell Let Loose could become a real hit amongst those looking for a bit more of a grounded experience than Call of Duty or Battlefield. However, the experience will rely heavily on the community engaging with each other positively to put plans together and make the experience authentic. Hell Let Loose is a game about teamwork and without it the chaos of war will overwhelm a player.

Hell Let Loose is a fun and accessible introduction to milsims, but I miss the complexity.
