The next Halo game from Halo Studios, the rebranded name of what was previously known as 343 Industries, will be a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, dubbed Halo: Campaign Evolved.
It's coming in 2026, likely to celebrate the franchise's 25th anniversary, and is being described as "a faithful yet modernized remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s campaign." What's more, it'll mark the first time that Halo, a long-time Xbox exclusive, will be on PlayStation, as the one-minute-long trailer had Sony's PlayStation logo in it, alongside the familiar Xbox logo from Microsoft.
Unfortunately, as exciting as a new Halo game is, there is one major caveat. The game will be strictly "Campaign-Only," meaning the franchise's iconic multiplayer suite will not ship with the title. There will, however, be three new prequel missions, per the game's description.
"Join the Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson in a brand-new arc set before the events of Halo: Combat Evolved, featuring new environments, gameplay, characters, and enemies."
