There's been a running joke throughout PlayStation's PS5 era that its newest console doesn't have enough games. Well, a breakdown of how far PlayStation's first-party sales have fallen since the PS5 launched prove, at least in part, that running joke kind of rings true.
Using Sony's sales data, Game File's Stephen Totilo has compiled a graph demonstrating how well PlayStation's first-party games have sold from FY18 through FY2020. Every year from FY2020 through until FY2024, PlayStation's first-party sales declined every year. Not something PlayStation will want to see as it has sold more PS5s and more people are buying that console's games, or so you'd think.
