Brandon Greene, aka Playerunknown, the person who brought us PUBG and other battle royale games has provided an update on the status of his studio Playerunknown Production, and that he is having to restructure the studio.
This restructure will involve the team becoming smaller, and halting work on their early access game Project: Go Wayback!, which was released last year on Steam and Epic Games Store according to an announcement posted on X. The studio plans to continue working on their Melba technology with a smaller team. The technology aims to push the maximum size of virtual areas, and terrain generation for an 'Earth-sized' world.
Playerunknown Productions is going to release one more update for the early access project Go Wayback!, with which they will add new items, paths, and trails in the survival rogue-lite type game. When it leaves early access they are aiming to make the game free for all players to try out the technology they were experimenting with.
