However, I would have liked a bit more polish in a few places. When I analyze a relic for the first time and am then told that I’ve already used this combination before, it initially feels quite confusing. Not all elements were consistently clickable either, and I often had to adjust the camera perspective more than should have been necessary—especially when nothing was actually overlapping my cultists that I was trying to select. But that said, I didn’t encounter any major issues that significantly impacted the overall gameplay experience during my time with the game. In fact, I consider this short, snappy structure to be one of its greatest strengths. Combined with a very charming and well-executed pixel art style and consistently entertaining humor, I can only recommend All Hail The Orb to fans of idle games. The updates feel cleverly designed, with individual goals always kept within reach without becoming frustrating. I can easily imagine All Hail The Orb being expanded further over time. If that happens, you’ve got my mouse—and my cultists.

In Beyond Words, it’s definitely worth taking a closer look at the gameplay loop. The odd bit of chance can bring a run to an end sooner than we’d like. But most of the time, Beyond Words is simply brilliant and one of the best titles in the word-building subgenre.

Ereban: Shadow Legacy is a creative and well-designed genre-mix game that only has some minor flaws in the polish. Specifically, there are some shadow interactions that the developers evidently did not consider, which can lead to erroneous behavior – whether glitching through walls or sliding along geometry that has little to do with the represented geometry. These rare errors only marginally affect the gaming experience.

At times, there’s a bit too much downtime with too few options for action, and technically the game runs a little choppily. But apart from that, the game offers some interesting ideas regarding mythical challenges, which makes Collector’s Cove well worth playing.

Yes, the political descriptions of the imaginary, yet not SO imaginary parties sometimes appear a bit blunt and underdeveloped, and some of the socio-political points of the game seem distributed like with a sledgehammer. And although the hand-drawn graphics with their wonderful animation please me personally, they are sometimes somewhat confusing and perspective-straining, if for example many different floors are in the picture. Does this really detract from Esoteric Ebb? At least not for me.

Arcade Archives 2 Rave Racer is a superbly executed port of the original arcade hall game. However, unfortunately, I cannot rate it well (albeit narrowly) when I consider the scope of the game. Of course, HAMSTER can't help it that the original offered so little content, but conversely, nothing would stand in their way—for example, to make a bundle from Ridge Racer up to Rave Racer.

What truly makes Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze an absolute must-play title for every Jump & Run fan is the again absolutely outstanding level design. Playing through the game normally, the levels are packed with secrets, tricky traps, and creative ideas.

Donkey Kong Country Returns is a magnificent 2D Jump & Run for all player types except newcomers to the genre. The thoughtful level design and thoroughly improved game mechanics compared to the SNES games make the game an excellent choice. In the end, however, you can't go wrong with any of the versions.

All in all, I’d definitely recommend Code Vein 2, even if there’s room for improvement. The world and level design could do with a few more highlights, and the enemies’ move sets could, in some cases, unleash slightly shorter and less precise combos on the player.

The port of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 has been convincingly accomplished. The lighting effects are particularly impressive graphically, and most visual issues persist across other consoles as well. The performance is almost completely flawless.

Cocoon is a fresh, imaginative action-adventure game with a focus on creative puzzle-solving. It’s very well executed, and the core concept is explored in a way that’s both varied and, for the most part, thoroughly covered. In that respect, Cocoon offers a well-rounded gaming experience, though it could show a little more confidence in the player’s abilities and resilience to frustration.

Ancient Farm is a rather uneven farming simulation. The fact that I am mostly alone on my farm—apart from the occasional trading ship—does not bother me at all. The tutorial is quite extensive, but beyond that there is a lack of incentives to engage with the various gameplay systems. In particular, the acquisition and use of water is overly complicated, requiring too many tools. On top of that, these tools break far too quickly. The seasons only differ in terms of which crops can be grown, which makes the overall experience feel somewhat shallow. As a result, the game comes across as a bit thin, and I can only offer a limited recommendation.
