Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is a good game when it tries to deliver a hack and slash experience. Unfortunately, when it attempts to go for a stealth-oriented design, it fails miserably and provokes only frustration and confusion. The fleshed out combat system and the presentation make up for it to some degree, but it still ends up a lackluster game.

The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 2: A House Divided is one of the strongest chapters yet in terms of story. Unfortunately, true gameplay sequences are a bit scarce, although some of the dialog scenes are certainly intense enough to make up for it in some regard.

8.5 / 10.0 - Infested Planet
Mar 6, 2014

Infested Planet is a good title that can provide many hours of intense action and solid strategic thinking, and I loved the way it focuses on the simple act of battling an ever-moving stream of aliens to create tension and a sense that every battle has clear stakes.

South Park: The Stick of Truth is not the greatest game that Obsidian could have created, but it is so faithful to the universe on which it is based that any fan will be delighted to experience the new stories, the new gags, the new take on familiar characters, and the impressive way in which the quiet mountain town is brought to virtual life.

9 / 10.0 - Titanfall
Mar 12, 2014

Titanfall is a great, fast-paced shooter that introduces just enough new elements to the core recipe so that it feels fresh and exhilarating once more. It might have worked even better with a single-player campaign or some more attention paid to the modes or customization options, but it's still quite worth your time.

9.5 / 10.0 - Luftrausers
Mar 18, 2014

Luftrausers is a stunning example of a modernized arcade game: tough but fair, with a great amount of customization and dynamic gameplay (plus soundtrack). If you've been looking for a great arcade bullet hell experience with plenty of new elements to make the gameplay feel fresh, then you can take to the sky in Vlambeer's latest title.

Deus Ex: The Fall is a mixed experience. On the one hand, its story is pretty good and its design certainly harks back to Human Revolution. On the other hand, in terms of an actual game, it disappoints with wonky gun mechanics, limited AI, quite a few glitches, and really bad visuals.

7 / 10.0 - 10 Second Ninja

I liked the time spent with 10 Second Ninja, although I wish it would just a little bit less punishing.

BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode 2 definitely feels worthy of the BioShock name, and delivers a fitting conclusion to the franchise. If Episode 1 was a bit lacking in both depth and length, Episode 2 is filled with the same brilliant direction Infinite had, making it easy to overlook its few lacking areas while being engrossed in the convoluted story, enjoying the flavorful dialogue and the gorgeous visuals.

Infamous: Second Son is a great-looking game that definitely takes advantage of the PS4's new power and abilities. Unfortunately, its combat needs a bit of tweaking and the boss battles need shortening. Even so, you'll go through quite a lot of great moments in the new title from Sucker Punch.

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls is a great expansion for the core game, adding just enough new things to justify its rather expensive price. If you're only interested in story or new classes, however, you might not be happy with what you get, so just stick to Diablo 3 after patch 2.0.1, which is quite a great RPG on its own.

Overall, Quest of Dungeons offers an enjoyable gameplay experience, but it fails to shine in any particular way. The classes don't feel different enough. There is little information regarding why your 50 damage weapon only inflicts 20 points of damage and how the number miraculously goes up when you level up. Plus, you're going to spend a lot of time going in circles, waiting for your health and mana to regen, time that would be much better spent actually playing the game.

8 / 10.0 - Cloudbuilt
Apr 2, 2014

The game is very interesting and can be extremely fun for those players who have a knack for quickly determining paths through levels and then quickly using the arsenal of moves provided to get to the finish point.

8 / 10.0 - Mercenary Kings
Apr 2, 2014

Mercenary Kings is a good side-scrolling shooter, but when you play it alone, you're bound to get annoyed by quite a few things. When experienced with at least one more friend, things are much better and you can focus on the fun factor of the whole game.

8.5 / 10.0 - Age of Wonders III

Age of Wonders III is a perfect representative of the 4X genre and all those who love strategy and fantasy should get it immediately and prepare to spend tends of hours exploring its varied world and creating clever strategies that can crumble when the enemy joins the fight.

7 / 10.0 - Betrayer
Apr 6, 2014

Although Betrayer brings many good ideas to the table, the mix fails to homogenize in a meaningful manner, and the game's shortcomings begin pestering you while you repeat the same patterns over and over.

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate Deluxe Edition is a valiant effort of bringing the handheld game to major platforms. However, problematic gameplay, not so good visuals, and original limitations, like the 2.5D perspective, diminish its value. Still, for fans of the series, the story is quite good and plenty of great characters return.

The Wolf Among Us Episode 3: A Crooked Mile is probably the best in the series so far, managing to feature quite a few intense situations and fleshed out gameplay sequences. It also shows a bigger scope on the whole Fabletown murder mystery, so it's going to be interesting to see how it concludes in the next two parts.

Until then, Kinect Sports Rivals will remain an interesting experiment that never manages to live up to the expectations linked to it.

A player can be defeated quickly, especially when using a higher difficulty setting and seeding the map with more monsters, and there's a feeling of challenge that other similar titles fail to deliver.
