6.5 / 10.0 - Rage 2
May 14, 2019

Going into release I was actually pretty hyped for this game. An over-the-top shooter with goofy weapons and powers sounded like something right up my alley, but what we got is yet another forgettable entry in the Rage franchise. It does nothing to warrant being brought back from the dead, so I have to ask Bethesda, why bother? Maybe some things are best left in the past.

8.5 / 10.0 - Shakedown: Hawaii
May 14, 2019

Apart from the slight foibles I’ve mentioned, however, Shakedown: Hawaii is a solid experience, full of fun segments and a ton of laughs.

If you’re looking for a laid back, cute and comfy Japanese RPG with an overwhelming amount of cuteness, you should consider picking up Atelier Lulua.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is a wonderful new IP from an up-and-coming studio like Asobo. The game takes a rarely adapted period from our history and builds it into a wholly unique experience, with a character-driven adventure that will have you wanting to see how it all ends. I really can’t recommend the game enough if you are looking for something fresh and new.

Even with nothing major done wrong, it is hard not to recommend games of similar genres unless you are on a budget. If you are however, Hellmut can be a very satisfying bite-sized morsel. If nothing else, it puts your reflexes to the test and offers a genuine challenge.

8.5 / 10.0 - Slay The Spire
May 7, 2019

There will be many runs where you won’t really have much of a chance, and if that might turn you off. However, Slay the Spire still offers a nice variety of content, an addicting card-based combat system, and a compelling gameplay loop that will keep you coming back for more punishment.

6 / 10.0 - Days Gone
May 3, 2019

Days Gone is ultimately a disappointing experience, that could have been much more. I didn’t hate my time with it, and there’s a lot of heart to the experience that I genuinely appreciated, but it falls into the same trappings of too many open world experiences.

If you did not like the games back in the 2000s, nothing has changed. But if you can take the cheese along with the odd boring minigame and puzzle – this is probably the quintessential Final Fantasy RPG. It would be a sin to miss out.

If you’re a fan of very dark and “mind screwy” type of stories, then you’ll definitely find something to enjoy with Zanki Zero: Last Beginning.

7.5 / 10.0 - Mortal Kombat 11
Apr 26, 2019

Mortal Kombat 11 is the latest and greatest entry in the long-running fighting game series focused on excessive murder and crazy Asian-inspired supernatural things. The formula is bloodier, more refined, and improved upon, and this feels like the definitive Mortal Kombat game.

SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech has stripped away anything unnecessary and made a solid RPG. While a few more flairs would have been nice and difficulty balance can be a bit off, it is still an excellent RPG that encourages players to strategize when building a deck to prove their mettle.

8.5 / 10.0 - Yuppie Psycho

Even with a couple of stumbles, and one bug in my time, I still had a great time with the game.

7.5 / 10.0 - Astroneer
Apr 23, 2019

While its sandbox-peers do a few things I would like to see here, it carves out its own style and has potential to develop into something that will make it stand along-side them as equals.

9.5 / 10.0 - Katana Zero
Apr 21, 2019

All considered, Katana Zero will set you back the price of a good meal, while being more fulfilling than than certain AAA studios’ safe and bland attempts for over double that price. In the words of Katana Zero itself: Yes, that should work

9.5 / 10.0 - Anno 1800
Apr 18, 2019

If you’re looking for a robust city builder with a ridiculously polished set of tools and tech trees for you to live out your wildest industrial era dreams, look no further. Despite some tiny gripes, I really couldn’t be happier with how much Anno 1800 honors the series legacy, and further refines it.

8 / 10.0 - Weedcraft Inc
Apr 18, 2019

I honestly have very little to criticize about the pure business side of the game. The gradual progression is not too slow, and you slowly develop from keeping a close eye on your own grow (the place where you, you know, grow) until you have plenty of people to do that for you.

While there’s no confirmed release dates for the next acts and side story DLCs, I look forward to seeing what comes next for both the detectives of Igrasil, and the developers at Igrasil Studio.

8.5 / 10.0 - Fate/Extella Link
Apr 15, 2019

If you’re a fan of musou games or the Fate franchise of games/anime, this is pretty much a no brainer for you. Pick up post haste! If you’re not a big fan of musou games, the Fate series or traps, Extella Link is still might be worth a pick up, at least to try it out.
