For those looking for a budget pick up and play VR shooter that offers an experience like the light gun games and arcade shooters of old; Zombieland: Headshot Fever Reloaded is an excellent choice that should not be overlooked as just another movie tie-in cash grab. In fact the movie license, besides some celebrity cameos and lore is mostly inconsequential. Sometimes you want a quick pick up and play game that scratches that satisfying shooting gallery itch and this game does a great job at that. While the gameplay loop and mechanics may be simple, the on rails and fast paced action keep things exciting and there is a high ceiling for those seeking a high score challenge.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is a great port of a great Kirby game. Keeping the magic of the original alive with a fresh coat of paint and meaningful new content, it's a game I can recommend to any lover of Kirby, platforming, or a good couch co-op experience.

8.2 / 10.0 - Fire Emblem Engage
Feb 21, 2023

While Fire Emblem Engage might miss the mark in terms of compelling storytelling, it stands as a series high for its gameplay. There's a lot to like about Engage, and it's a game I can recommend without hesitation to any fan of the series.

Marvel's Midnight Suns excels more as the new strategy game from Firaxis than as a new Marvel property, but fans of either franchise are likely to be satisfied by what it offers.

6.5 / 10.0 - Forspoken
Feb 7, 2023

It's not that Forspoken is a bad game, it's more that it doesn't knock your socks off. Beyond the standard regime of exploring, powering up, battling, and repeating, there is a good experience to be had here, but ultimately nothing much that is incredibly endearing to this particular game in my opinion.

It's no paradigm shift, no epic adventure that will forever change the course of games to come; but it's a truly fun-packed, and varietous romp around 7 colourful and hilariously enjoyable worlds!

8.5 / 10.0 - BLACKTAIL
Dec 17, 2022

There is almost everything to love in Blacktail with a unique premise and beautiful world. Despite some flaws in performance and gameplay, I would very much recommend giving this game a try even for those that are just slightly interested.

8.5 / 10.0 - Chained Echoes
Dec 14, 2022

If you’re a fan of JRPGs and/or turn-based games, Chained Echoes is a must of a time sink. It’s not only an impressive work of solo developer Matthias Linda but a well crafted one at that.

6 / 10.0 - Evil West
Dec 11, 2022

Evil West is a basic game for basic players. There are no taxing puzzles, no major hurdles to overcome, and no massive pull for me to replay it now it's done. While it can be semi-enjoyable in places, overall Evil West is a disappointingly unremarkable experience in my opinion.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are games I want to rate higher based on my own experiences, but I can't meaningfully do so given their stark technical flaws. If you're a Pokemon fan and can look past the graphical and performance issues, you'll likely have as good a time as I have. If not though, I'd recommend waiting for an update and picking it up down the line.

What isn't to love! With big guns, masses of perks and XP to unlock, and waves of dinos to eviscerate: Second Extinction is great fun with the occasional rock-solid boss-fight moment to really keep you on your toes. Best played with mates for maximum carnage!

6.5 / 10.0 - Gotham Knights
Nov 17, 2022

Most people ought to skip Gotham Knights, and save themselves the trouble of playing a clunky, repetitive game with elements that they've seen countless times before. However, anyone that truly loves the sidekicks of the Batman franchise will be utterly overjoyed and willing to look past the lack of polish and enjoy a janky game that has a lot of intricate details and care put into it.
