Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny is a lighthearted, accessible dungeon crawler meant for families and longtime Nick fans who want a colorful nostalgia trip. For kids, it's an exciting crossover packed with humor, fantasy, and familiar characters. For adults, it's a fun, but shallow experience best enjoyed with friends on the couch. Weaknesses like repetitive environments, simplistic mechanics, and limited progression systems are noticeable, yet when judged as a family-friendly romp, it succeeds where it matters most which is bringing beloved Nicktoons together in a way that celebrates their personalities while giving players an easygoing adventure. If you're a parent looking for a cooperative game to play with your kids, or a millennial eager for a nostalgia-fueled night with friends, rolling the dice on Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny is worth the throw. Just don't expect it to be more than a light, breezy quest.

As an entry point into a long running and interconnected series, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is an excellent game. Beyond just being a gateway into a larger whole, it is also a JRPG done right. A cast of charming characters anchored by two leads who you want to spend as much time with as possible, a twisty narrative and a combat system that is easy to pick up yet reveals plenty of depth, all the components here shine. With news that the sequel is also receiving the remake treatment, there has never been a better time to dive into the Trails series.

I'm pretty franchise agnostic with karting… I'm not fussed about who the characters are as long as it's fun and I can certainly say that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is a lot of fun… even when I wasn't winning I was still enjoying the experience. The moments you pick up a power that can either help you take out the opponent in front or possibly blast past everyone ahead of you really add a lot of fun to the game. The ability to adjust many of the different aspects of the game (including the racing speed) means you can adapt it to the sort of mood you are in, or the skill level you want. The only drawback I would say is the price which does seem a bit steep… but there is a lot of fun to be had here either in solo play or in multiplayer and who doesn't like a bit of split screen racing. Either grab a copy now and get racing or wait for a sale and then grab a copy… but if you like karting games… this is pretty close to a must have!

The Order of the Snake Scale succeeds more as a curiosity than a polished product. Its awkward controls and uneven writing hold it back, but its inventive camera system, eerie worldbuilding, and old-school puzzle design make it memorable. It's a compact, strange, and distinctive adventure that wears its retro inspirations proudly while trying new things. Players looking for polished combat or hand-holding may bounce off, but for fans of survival horror oddities and puzzle-driven mysteries, Happy Rock is worth visiting. At its affordable price, it's an easy recommendation to those who want something different, even if "different" sometimes comes with rough edges.

4.1 / 5.0 - Silent Hill f
Sep 28, 2025

Silent Hill f is not the Silent Hill of old. It's creepier than it is terrifying and more strategic than it is oppressive. Its formula can feel exhausting, and its reliance on repetition means patience is required to fully appreciate it. Combat, while engaging, is occasionally clunky, and the pacing of story beats sometimes drags. Performance hiccups and melodramatic writing don't help. And yet, despite all of this, the game is strangely addictive. Its blend of resource management, strategic combat, and layered storytelling creates a loop that's hard to put down. It's gorgeous, unsettling, and deeply symbolic, with a protagonist who feels refreshingly human. For longtime fans, it may feel too different and for newcomers, it may feel overwhelming, but for those willing to meet it halfway, Silent Hill f offers one of the most unique horror experiences in years. It's not the series' greatest masterpiece, but it is the boldest step Silent Hill has taken in decades. It's a game with flaws that are hard to ignore, but also with moments of brilliance that will stay with you long after the flowers wither.

DK Island & Emerald Rush doesn't reinvent the jungle, but it expands it with heart, energy and a clear love for Donkey Kong's history. DK Island is a warm, nostalgic playground, while Emerald Rush is a fast‑paced, endlessly replayable challenge that keeps you coming back for "just one more run." If you loved the base game, you will definitely enjoy the DLC!

3 / 5.0 - Hotel Barcelona
Sep 26, 2025

Hotel Barcelona delivers a wild, stylish, and often thrilling experience, blending the best of SUDA51 and Swery65's chaotic sensibilities with clever mechanics, gorgeous visuals, and an audacious sense of humor. Its combat is fun, its world is memorable, and its story, though flawed at times, is engaging in all the right ways. However, the game's brevity and underused mechanics leave it feeling like it's missing a larger piece of the puzzle, hinting at the potential for something far greater. Playing through it feels like being promised a full-course steak dinner, only to get a quick salad, a bite of steak with some potatoes, and then being rushed out before dessert. The pieces are there, and what you taste is good, but the meal ends just as it starts to get satisfying. Fans of offbeat, over-the-top action-horror with a cerebral twist will find much to enjoy here, while those expecting a fully realized roguelite epic may leave wanting just a bit more. Nevertheless, for those who revel in the bizarre, the bloody, and the brilliant, Hotel Barcelona provides a uniquely satisfying experience that rewards exploration, experimentation, and repeated play, even if it occasionally teases more than it delivers.

All in all, it’s a let down, but not a failure. It’s gorgeously rendered, and a direct evolution from the first game, but it’s left some of the grit and grime behind. If you are the type to love a city-builder, then you’ll likely love it more than the first, just know that there are some technical difficulties when your build number gets too high (you can drop your graphics settings to offset this). But if you were hoping for some hard choices and tough scenarios, the first game (plus DLCs) is the better choice.

3.6 / 5.0 - Formula Legends
Sep 26, 2025

I enjoyed Formula Legends for the most part, despite all the little oddities and quirks. It's a fun game that, with a little bit more work, could be great. The developers have announced that they're working on fixes to various bugs that exist. This, along with mod support out of the box, should hopefully keep this game interesting for a while to come.

3.4 / 5.0 - Call of the Sea
Sep 23, 2025

Call of the Sea on the Nintendo Switch is not a flawless game, and may not be the best place to try to experience the heaviness and brevity of the story trying to be told, but you can still jump into this world just fine on this system. The flexibility of playing on a handheld and taking it anywhere is a major advantage that helps offset many of the game's shortcomings. It is a modest, heartfelt adventure that blends puzzles, story, and atmosphere into something earnestly memorable. While the Switch struggles to do justice to its presentation, the underlying experience is still worth a look, particularly for those eager to uncover what lies beneath the waves before the sequel surfaces.
