Sorry We're Closed is a well polished game. Overall, the combat is very precise and incredibly addicting. The horror element of having to be alert at all times and the back and forth of the fighting feels clever and creates a nice gameplay loop that keeps you on your toes. The multiple uses of the third eye ability is innovative and really opens up Sorry We're Closed to be its own unique beast. Getting good ratings through skill or fortuitously feels rewarding and makes you want to be more competent. The game is wonderfully paced and just feels immensely fresh. A rich world, complex and amusing characters, and a smart narrative produce a very entertaining experience. Open up your third eye and dive into this devilishly divine time!
A heartfelt, spellbinding co op masterpiece that needs to be in your library
This retro-inspired game boasts engaging gameplay, quirky humor, and nostalgic visuals that will become a must-play for fans of classic platformers and puzzle games, offering a unique and memorable experience that pays homage to the golden age of gaming while introducing fresh and innovative mechanics that are sure to captivate both new and seasoned players alike.
Highly recommended, more so if you don’t mind turning off the commentary and maybe the music.
Physics based destruction... that's about it.
It Takes Two is a fun cooperative game on the PlayStation that is filled with consistent surprises and delights, offering a unique and unforgettable experience. Whether you're playing with a significant other, a friend or a family member, It Takes Two is an essential title for any PS5 owner who is looking for a cooperative challenge and from an incredible moving perspective from a story point of view that can easily be knocked over in a few binge gaming sessions.
The second round of Tomb Raider remasters does a great job in translating the original games to modern hardware.
A 90s coming of age adventure for those that praise characterisation over action
Overall I found Two Point Museum an absorbing delight, and it was only improved for the areas in which it differed from my halcyon days of school with Theme Hospital. My biggest concern is limiting how much time I spend playing this game – and how many ways can I really present the same exhibits… 5 / 5 stars.
X-Out is back with some tweaks to bring it to the modern era whilst keeping it's retro charm.
As well as being a captivating and addictive strategy-come-city-builder, it’s a game full of surprises, but perhaps most importantly, a game that exudes sheer joy. It’s the perfect addition to any genre fan’s catalogue, but most importantly, it’s an excellent gateway for anyone looking to dabble in the city-building genre.
The decision to put Majima in the captain’s chair is inspired and has allowed the team at Ryu Ga Gotoku to create one of the most unique and off-the-will games in the long-running series. Much like its beloved lead, Pirate Yakuxa in Hawaii is a little crazy, a little random, but incredibly charming.
Casey Jones slap shots his way into Splintered Fate in this short and sweet DLC.
An early contender for RPG of the year
Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip is a very special game. The simple outline of the story is entertaining and the way the game goes about telling it with its jarring obtuse jokes is unique. The blank stares of the characters and chaotic manner of events create a creative and impactful experience. An unruly camera and dreadful framerate seem minuscule in the presence of superb and effective gameplay. Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip draws you in with its novelty and silliness, but holds you with its charm and joyous disposition, making this high-speed trip with the adorable Terry a noteworthy adventure that all should partake in.
I thoroughly enjoyed Undying although it feels like it is missing an extra layer of something unique to make it innovative. There are so many different gameplay mechanics that it feels more like busy work than actually playing the game to have fun, especially since the story and the combat are uninspired.
Not bad – there's fun to be found with this game. However, technical issues hold it back.
An solid post-apocalyptic monster-hunting action JRPG that would be criminal to miss
SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada is an interesting take on the extraction shooter model. Unfortunately, extremely slow pacing and some frankly bizarre design decisions may turn people away.
If you prefer very simple flight mechanics then you might want to give it a miss. Either way I'd recommend checking patch notes for whether you are comfortable grabbing a copy, or at least wait for a sale if you are concerned about game crashes.
