oOo: Ascension is a unique, 3D platformer with a couple major flaws that prevent it from reaching its fullest potential.
Whilst it's not quite the next Rocket League it's still a rather good arena-based team game that's easy to drop into and play for short periods.
Gorogoa definitely falls into the category of games that I wish were longer, but it is difficult to find many genuine faults with the game.
This game couldn't be recommended to anyone and it only earns a score even this high because it is not functionally broken, but that's nothing to be proud of.
If you're looking for a standard arcade racer to play alone, it's probably not for you, but if you're looking for something different and have a few friends willing to team up, ONRUSH feels wholly new and chaotically fun.
You won't feel especially storied playing out the sparse career mode, but if you need a modern tennis sim with strong on-court gameplay, AO Tennis is an ace.
There's certainly room for difficult and frustrating platformers that eventually reward you when you succeed, but Bounce Rescue! rarely feels worth the trouble because it's challenging for all the wrong reasons.
The best-case scenario for Agony is that patches fix the many technical problems plaguing this game right now.
Dark Souls was a brilliant game in 2011, and it is still a brilliant game in 2018.
These positives tend to be forgotten though, and can be completely eclipsed by the game's main pitfalls. The frame rate is unacceptable at times, which then affects the already subpar combat. These issues, combined with the numerous crashes, took me out of the experience more than a few times. Sadly, these negatives are nigh impossible to overlook.
The beautifully drawn and wonderfully composed Yoku's Island Express is another nice addition to the Xbox One's library of platformers.
City of Brass looks like a beautiful epic straight out of the tales of the Arabian Nights. Instead, it's a dreadful slog designed to avoid everything that makes a roguelite game replayable and fun.
Grim Legends 3: The Dark City is a concluding episode of a trilogy that really bears little resemblance between the three episodes, although the darker story found in this episode is perhaps the most befitting of the trilogy's moniker.
It's the most realistic zombie apocalypse simulation in the world and that's a beautiful thing.
The "Guardian Trials" is a rather timid and safe entry into Super Lucky's Tale's stable of gameplay. The essence of this DLC could be quite fairly distilled down into "more of the same," which is fine if hardly a ringing endorsement.
"Hide and Seek" confirms The Council is more than a one-hit wonder.
Space Hulk: Ascension has evolved considerably from its board game roots, but without making a full transformation into a well-rounded video game.
Though it takes a little while to get going, and you may feel quite overwhelmed at the start of the game, Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs - Royal Edition is well worth sticking with.
Through The Woods is a horror game that delivers some good scares, just not really in the way that was intended.
It's a bit of shame because underneath it all and away from the uncompromising difficulty, there is a very nice, well crafted and novel platform title here, that in between difficulty spikes is actually enjoyable and rewarding to play.
