Alwa's Legacy is a love letter to the Metroidvania genre and 16-bit gaming in general. It's said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. In that case, Igarashi will be blushing. It doesn't always make for a good game, though. Alwa's Legacy is an enjoyable and pretty adventure that's too formulaic to be truly memorable.

Star Wars: Squadrons provides fulfilling and authentic gameplay, but fails in almost every other department. The story, map variety, and technical performance are subpar and keeps me from coming back.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time carries on Crash's story as time-space is in trouble again. Toys for Bob have added a lot to this new Crash and while a lot of it works really well, what doesn't work does let the package down. Crash fans will still enjoy even for the new adventure.

All three of these games are representative of why Super Mario is such a great series. Though the ports for 64 and Sunshine have a few flaws, Galaxy feels absolutely perfect on the Switch.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim pairs together a sci-fi anime storyline told from 13 different perspectives about giant Mech battles and time travel, with arcade strategy combat as you seek to protect your city. While convoluted at times 13 Sentinels delivers an incredible story.
