Gungrave VR is actually one of the rare virtual reality titles that fails to have anything minutely interesting to it. Like there was no reason for this to be a PSVR game other than to be a distraction on how bad the game is. The nonexistent story is one thing, but broken, uninspired, and basic gameplay is another. Don’t play this game. Even if you receive a virtual reality headset and this title for free.
Bravo Team was supposed to be the next big thing for PSVR. A tactical shooter that you'd spend hours of time playing with your mates. Instead I'll probably spend more time telling people about how bad it is than I'll ever spend playing the damn thing. It's that bad.
I've said all I needed to say in the body of the review. There's just not way to summarise my experience with the game other than to say it was total, utter, crap.

The Grand Tour Game could have been a decent little add-on to a brilliant TV show. Instead it crashes and burns at every turn. You can thank to ‘naff handling for that.
Morphite wants so badly to be No Man's Sky that it takes as much as it can from Hello Games' indie flop without giving anything back. There's little in the way of originality. This is No Man's Sky: Poor Man's Edition - The Low Budget Sequel Nobody Asked For.
VR Ping Pong is just not a good game. Maybe it works well on other platforms, but for the PSVR it's a poor match. The tracking works in that your movements are translated accurately, but the game's physics are the real hinderance to the gameplay. Ping Pong is a game of finesse. A game of well-placed volleys and calculated spin shots. VR Ping Pong is a game of luck, and just like the Las Vegas casinos that deal in such a commodity, the house will always win.
Nippon Marathon is a weird game for weird people. I consider myself to be weird, but this is some next-level stuff. If you find that your tastes in games generally align with mine, leave this alone. If you sit around watching anime on your Hello Kitty TV whilst eating imported noodles with authentic wasabi sauce – go for it, you weirdo.
Road Redemption’s vehicular combat provides fleeting fun but repetitive objectives, limited gameplay variety and tedious progression make this ride feel like a slog.
Special Delivery takes the simple premise of Paperboy and complicates it by jamming it into VR. It could have been good - great even - but the clumsy controls are a deal-breaker in this outing. You'd probably have more fun doing an actual paper round...
HeroCade is a collection of bad games with a couple of half-decent attempts thrown in. Remember those crummy 1000-in-1 TV plug-and-play consoles where the majority of the games were shite rip-offs of other games? 'Nuff said.
Weeping Doll has the potential to be a thrilling little haunted house mystery game, but it ultimately falls at every major hurdle. The opening few minutes are interesting enough and seem to promise a proper little fright fest, but after playing through the game's meager 1-hour running time, there's just nothing there.
Avalanche Studios clearly tried doing something different with the Just Cause series and added some new flavor to Just Cause 4. It’s a shame none of the additions really fit or handled properly. The story wasn’t well told, gameplay gravitated away from proper destruction, and just things that make the title look like it’s from 2008. If Just Cause 4 is like this because the developers are running out of ideas, it might be best to retire the series and move on to something else.
I know many likened Apex Construct to Horizon: Zero Dawn in some capacity and I’m here to tell you that notion needs to be ripped, stomped on, and thrown away. There’s too many problems that gradually grow to the unforgivable sort. A game can’t succeed when shooting and picking things up are hardcore victims to lag and registration errors and performing the same requirement to progress the story. There are small glimmers of light that shine in this title except it’s like looking for a hay in a needlestack. You may be proud once you find it, but there’s much pain to go through first.
Carmageddon: Max Damage has the bare essentials in play to be a decent game but is hampered by the poor execution. It's a lengthy game that'll provide more than a few bangs for your buck, but you may find yourself banging your own head in.
Unique gameplay mashups and twists are great at hooking a prospective player, but if the game doesn’t evolve past that initial gameplay, they won’t play for long. Lethal League’s unique qualities like the gameplay and the arcade feel don’t compensate for a game that has very little depth and repetitious gameplay. It would have been worth three or four quarters back in my arcade days, but then I would have moved on to a different game. Don’t get sucked in by this magic trick; and for goodness sake, put your wallet on a chain.
"If the developers were looking to take Double Dragon IV back to the series' roots, great. It's just that the formula does not translate well after nearly thirty years. What was the standard then isn't the standard now. Having enemies who can move faster than you while your stuck with middling delays was not enjoyable in the slightest. The graphics and enemy design choices were nice but a side scrolling beat'em up is hardly judged on those alone. Absolute die-hard fans of the genre or the Double Dragon name may find something to like here, but anyone else should steer clear."
Thronebreaker isn’t completely the Gwent I knew and loved, but after learning the new rules and ways I found myself having fun. For all about ten to thirty minutes before I was crashed back to the PS4 dashboard with a blue screen. Not in all my life had I experienced a title die like this before and actually make me worry about the health of my gaming console. Art design, voice acting, and the basic traversal around the world did a great job bringing a simple card game to life. It’s just that all of them were smothered by the color blue.
Suicide Guy is not about suicide or depression. It's a lighthearted game about a guy who has to wake up from a dream to keep his beer from spilling on his floor. Although the levels are varied, the unreliable physics and frustrating platforming kept me from enjoying this game more. If you like the so bad it's good genre, this may give you some enjoyment. Otherwise, it is not the worst game that will be released this year, but it has too many negatives to overcome for me to recommend it.
Episode 5 is an overall disappointment for the end of the season. Batman is victorious, but the villain’s motivations are tired. The detective and fight choreography scenes only ask the player to draw lines, and the entire season feels like a setup for later seasons, sacrificing a more focused story with deeper character interaction. I can only hope the next season will avoid some of the problems in season one.
