Mudrunner is a great game for its target demographic but it won't please people of just any audience. Nevertheless, I'm usually not a fan of "realistic" games yet I still found some enjoyment in plowing through the mud like a sadomachosist and it helped that I got to stare at the pretty pictures while doing so. It's a niche game that does what it sets out to do very well.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole is a video game sequel done right, it doesn't change much but changes enough that it impressed me even more than the first game.
2017's Game Of The Year just got a new contender, Super Mario Odyssey IS exactly what I wanted and then some. The hype usually can not keep up with a video game but Super Mario Odyssey not only keeps up with the hype, it has passed it, and has gone way beyond my expectations. Sure there's some minor issues that I had with the game, but it never once made the game any worse for me. I couldn't put down Super Mario Odyssey and I'm kind of sad that I have to write this review right now because I want to get back to the world of Super Mario Odyssey that much! Look out other GOTY contenders, it looks like Mario has just entered the game.
If you're new to the NHL series like myself then I would certainly recommend trying it out, and I'm also sure you will get your money's worth due to the unbelievable amount of content that will keep you busy with this game for a while.
Despite its length, the journey in AER: Memories of Old is highly enjoyable and easy to recommend to all fans of adventure games. Kudos to publisher Daedalic Entertainment for releasing another gorgeous game that joins Silence and Pillars of the Earth on my hidden gems list.
Overall I was very impressed with the around 5 hour long story mode, and I hope to see it become a staple for the Madden series in future releases. It's story heavy and you should expect gameplay to light in this mode as story and narration is the number one focus in this mode as it should be.
The Evil Within 2 is up there with some of my favorite games of 2017, an absolute must play for anyone who liked Resident Evil 4 or Dead Space. Now can we get a sequel to Shadows of the Damned already, Shinji?
Tekken 7 is a great entry in the series that doesn’t take many chances in the gameplay department but has a bold story-mode and a very addictive Treasure Mode that will keep you coming back to the game time after time.
Mecho Tales isn't a bad game it just isn't very fun to play and doesn't pose much of a challenge outside that final cheap boss fight. The game isn't very long either especially for the asking price. Wait for a sale on this one unless the art style alone draws you in.
Cuphead is a true masterpiece that every serious gamer should at least try. It's the most stylish and unique 2D action game since Viewtiful Joe.
Battle Chasers: Nightwar does so many things right, and is an enjoyable experience throughout.
Bulb Boy managed to hit the perfect combination of linearity, instinctiveness and charm.
As far as vertical shmups go, Battle Garegga Rev.2016 is exceptional.
At first, I didn't think that I would get into this game but as I played it more, the story seemed to grab my attention and now I am interested in seeing what the next episode of The Enemy Within has in store.
Bloody Zombies is the type of game that I feel has so much going for it, but needs some more gameplay tweaks.
I could go on forever about Warhammer: End Times Vermintide, it really hooked me.
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is another hit for the Nintendo Switch, and is a must buy for many different fans. Fans of Mario, fans of Rabbids, fans of turn based shooters should all have their eyes on this wacky but brilliant collaboration.
The story is pretty good so far and seems to kind of set up the first Life is Strange game. The graphics seem to be awesome as well. I do have to say that I enjoy Chloe's "I don't give two F's" attitude better than Max's quiet attitude, though its good, it could had been better.
I think that this could be one of the better games of the year.
I see most gamers enjoying Maize, but very few returning to the cornfield for another trip around the farm.
