GameSpew's Reviews
This game is just beautiful. Dripping with atmosphere and lit wonderfully, there were honestly moments where I just stayed in cover to look around at my surroundings
The simple and easy to grasp control system of the game made for smooth gameplay
The jumping system is flawed, and considering you are required to jump throughout the game, it becomes difficult to truly enjoy it
You'll soon find that the inventory becomes a chore as you have to juggle items around and leave valuable resources on the ground
No amount of pretty can make up for the repetition of dying for the twentieth time
Despite its fun, humorous style and peppy chiptune soundtrack, it is not a game for the casual player and requires a great deal of patience and skill to complete
Even with AI difficulty set to Easy, prepare to lose more than your fair share of matches, and you'll probably give up playing long before you've put in enough time to become a master of the game
Certain scenarios will test your morals by forcing unfair economic sanctions or an overabundance of bad ingredients on you, all designed to test how easily you slip to the dark side
Bithell's wonderfully witty scripts complimented with Wallace's performance is a match made in heaven; I just wish I could love it all when mixed together with the game mechanics
Party Hard really is entertaining, but this is a game that relies heavily on a few simple mechanics: stabbing people, using traps and escaping from the police
With quite an unsatisfying combat system that sees you charging at enemies to headbutt them, you'll be tempted more often than not to flee
From Is0bel's standoffish demeanour to Kindly Cheng's evil but soothing tone, every conversation felt visceral, grounded in the world
Trine 3 is beautiful; full of colour, and accompanied by a great soundtrack
The horror theme works surprisingly well and the Bomberman-style gameplay is still fun to play today
Overall, Mega Man Legacy Collection is a release that long term fans of the little blue robot will absolutely adore despite the odd hiccup, thanks to the faithful representation of the games on offer and the myriad of extras included in the package.
. . .a complicated visual prompt will pop up on the interface and lets you feel much more involved when in reality you're just waiting for a progress bar to finish
Fate Tectonics is a very, very fun game if you're into world builders
Like a B-Movie, Risen 3: Titan Lords Enhanced Edition hasn't got the production values of a AAA release, but what it does have is charm
…if you can't beat it like Michael Jackson, you'll be falling into its big open booby trap: repetitiveness
A return to the heyday of 2D pixel art has clearly been attempted, although rather than the revolutionary pixel artistry of games like Fez we are given an aesthetic which many would simply regard as dated
