You seriously must possess two learning skills such as visual and audio modalities. Visual so you can see the pattern and let your muscles do the rest while audio help you hear the pattern making Patapons carry out your commands and building that momentum. I find myself on the edge of my seat, gritting my teeth while singing out loud just so I can time my rhythm and not mess the chain commands. It is quite enjoyable but failing too may times really drains my stamina.
Its great for those who are really into collecting and experiencing different vehicle types, but aside from that, it’s not a game that’ll keep you coming back for more. The teams at Ivory Tower need to release some major updates and events if they want to keep this game afloat. Until then, The Crew 2 just barely chugs along.
However, if you’re someone who enjoys the story more than anything else and prefers an immersive experience that captivates you and entices your curiosity in the character and setting, then this might not be the game for you.
Overall, Dark Rose Valkyrie is trying to be a game that will supposedly surpass all the other JRPGs but instead it flops hard with all the mess it created. It’s trying to be too many games all at once and it can’t seem to decide what it should be that it loses its identity among all the features. What could have been a breakout game became a game that I would easily want to forget.
Overall, the Dead Rising Triple Pack is a vanilla porting of the three games, with not much added even in the visuals department. It’s disappointing and can be a bit steep of an asking price to revisit these games without any incentives such as commentary or developer diaries. If you’ve never played these games before, then go ahead and give it a shot. For long time fans of the series, however, it’s best you stick with your old copies and just play the new Dead Rising 4.
Sadly, this is a hard pass for players who covet the older Breaker games. The number of series on offer is a limiting factor and a far cry from the options offered in past games. For anyone who is looking for a fresh take on the series, this is it. I certainly hope that these rough beginnings will lead to better games in the future.
Overall, NBA Playgrounds could’ve been the next NBA Jam. It nails everything from the look of the characters, to the lighthearted commentary. While it’s fun at first for a few rounds, as time goes on the cracks start to show and you realize that this game is more of an attempted layup than an actual slam dunk. If you’ve never played an NBA Jam game before, you can give this game a shot. Otherwise, for a true arcade basketball experience, stick to the classics.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty offers a mixed gaming experience. While it attempts to blend elements from the “Souls” genre with Team Ninja’s signature combat, it falls short in storytelling and gear management. The combat system shines as a highlight, offering a satisfying and challenging experience. However, the game’s repetitiveness, issues with progression, and lackluster story may deter some players. In the end, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty has its merits but also a fair share of rough edges, making it a title that will resonate more with fans of Team Ninja’s combat style than those seeking a seamless “Souls” experience.
To sum it up, AEW Fight Forever is a good game that has tons of potential. If I were to recommend it to those who are new to wrestling games, I could but for those who are veterans of these types of games, I wouldn’t recommend it. It lacks the appeal it needs to stay active for at least half a year and it would have appealed to a much larger audience if it took some cues from contemporaries like WWE 2K23. At the very least, it should try to find ways to stay up-to-date with current happenings within AEW. That can go along with fans of both the brand and wrestling games in general.
Exoprimal is a fun game but feels like it falls short due to how it can fail to open up until you invest a significant amount of time in the game. The story is worth checking out but don’t expect to be sucked into the gameplay loop of fighting dinosaurs for a long period of time.
Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a fun game but it doesn’t feel like it’s going to last long before you tire of it. Unless you have a dedicated group of friends who’ll play with you, it’s not something we recommend a full purchase on. I recommend waiting for it to go on sale or trying it out on Xbox Game Pass first.
It is apparent that Forspoken has potential. There are highs and lows but it seems like the latter is more obvious. Unfortunately, despite the fact that a demo was released in December to solicit feedback from players, the game has not improved. Despite the ample amount of delay, the game has failed to deliver the quality that we expect from a large publisher like Square Enix. Yes, it is playable, but if you can ignore the flaws and focus solely on the unique blend of story and great traverse mechanic, it will make your time in Athia worthwhile.
It has been mentioned a couple of times in this piece now, but the success of Bloodhunt still heavily relies on how much content the devs will keep on putting on this game. They will have to strike the right balance and quality of the next new game modes, archetypes, and possibly game mechanics to invite players who are unfamiliar with the franchise, as well as invite long time Vampire: The Masquerade fans to try out this weird concoction. The concept has potential, the sparks just needs constant fanning to catch on to a larger player base and become the next hit battle royale.
All in all, Life is Strange Remastered Collection, as a game, is better than the sum of its parts. I’ve found it to be flawed yet fascinating and interesting. The same can be said for parts of its prequels but that game can also be a bore sometimes. Whatever the case may be, these are games I would recommend to anyone curious as Life is Strange has a lot to offer that may connect better with you. But I do recommend you hold off on this remaster until the bugs have been addressed.
If you can stick through some wooden voice acting and awkward animation, there is a decent B-movie thriller here that is easy to digest if you’re looking for some video game pulp horror this Halloween season.
Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla Siege of Paris is a welcome addition to the main campaign. However, if you already didn’t like the main game, then this DLC might not be for you. But if you’re enticed with exploring a new land, story, and the return of Black Box assassination missions then Siege of Paris just may very well be worth your time.
Skyward Sword HD is enough of a Zelda game that fans of the series will still have a good time playing it. With a strong story and characters that stand out, there is still fun to be had despite the god awful controls that do their best to ruin what would’ve been an outstanding game had it adhered to traditional gameplay mechanics.
At the end of the day, it’s hard for me to recommend Watch Dogs Bloodlines when I can’t even recommend Legion. All I can say is that if you’ve already purchased Legion, then getting Bloodlines can be worth getting providing that you already like the base game.
Overall, if you’re not a fan of having to always end up with nothing this game is not for you. Rust Console Edition will definitely appeal to people who like a challenge and would like nothing more than to prove themselves capable of surviving in a dog-eat-dog world. Otherwise, I think it’s best you stick to other games that allow you to play at your own pace.
The thing about this game is that it doesn’t sell itself based on its gameplay nor how anyone would ever want to play this game. Its biggest hook is that the game is all about the journey and discovery and that sense of escapism that most games usually don’t provide. It is an interesting game but it’s a game that I feel is not suited for everyone. But if you are just looking for a game to escape to. A game that will help you de-stress and just enjoy the visuals that it offers, then I would say this is a game that anyone should be interested in playing.
