Period: Cube ~Shackles of Amadeus~ is a great Otome visual novel on PlayStation Vita with a solid story, great graphics and a ton of content to experience. If you're a fan of the genre, then you're going to love this entry. But even if you're not a fan, this PS Vita release is the perfect entry point into Otome so that you can see what all the fuss is about.

Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada is an excellent game that expands on the Samurai Warriors formula by introducing interesting elements such as friendship building and exploration. It feels a bit more personal than previous Samurai Warriors releases, making it a must-play for fans of the franchise.

65% - RiME

RiME's very enjoyable, but a soon forgotten game – something with superb eye candy, but one that delivers short of gameplay and originality.

Yesterday Origins is a clever adventure game with a nice mix of the old-school of point and click releases and some of the advancements in the genre for the 21st century. It's a lengthy release with plenty to do and lots of information to process, as should be the case for any adventure release. The game's art style will grow on you as it is a nice mix between cartoony and realistic with a lot of polish to detail. If you want a good PS4 adventure game to play, then Yesterday Origins from Pendulo Studios and Microïds could be just what you needed.

Get the game, but don't expect it to be like Borderlands or any other modern shooter. Visuals aside, this plays very much like the 90s FPS that inspired it, and while that's a good thing, we're nowadays more accustomed to a bit more complexity and variety in the genre.

As someone who had never played a Cooking Mama game before, I have to say I really enjoyed my time playing this one on 3DS for my Cooking Mama: Sweet Shop review. The cute art style is certainly charming, and the gameplay is fun and paced just right. If you're a fan of the series, then you're going to love this one. And if you're new to the franchise like me, this is certainly a great place to start!

In the end, Skylar and Plux: Adventure on Cover Island is a 3D action platformer that at times feels bit “by the numbers,” but that doesn't mean it's not fun. You're looking at around 6-7 hours to complete the game with everything it includes, which is a nice length considering its $14.99 budget price. If you're looking for a game to scratch that 3D platforming itch with a nice balance of action, platforming, and collectibles, then I definitely recommend you play this one.

Final Thoughts Tumbleseed is a unique release based on a great idea and is very fun to play. The visuals and the gameplay are very polished, and the procedurally generated levels will keep you playing for many hours. I recommend this one to gamers looking for a unique experience on PlayStation 4 since Tumbleseed certainly delivers!

Overall, Mother Russia Bleeds is a fun single player/multiplayer beat 'em up on PlayStation 4. It's a bit on the gruesome and bloody side of the genre, but it's a fun ride while it lasts. Being able to take on the game on your own or with up to three other players makes it a great option on Sony's console, so if you've been looking for a beat 'em up with a good balance between the old and the new, you should give this one a try.

Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap is a great remake of a beloved classic. It's a great game, but as a direct remake, the gameplay does seem a bit old-school. I would love to see a new fresh game in the series… and it seems I'll be getting my wish soon thanks to Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom, which is a spiritual successor to Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap. It is being developed by Game Atelier and will be published by FDG Entertainment on PS4, so be sure to get Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap today to prepare you for that one as well!

If you're a fan of the series, you'll probably enjoy this. For me, as a total noob? I felt that the game needed more time in development to iron out some of the tech issues and kinks and to, perhaps, polish up the character models and sloppy environments.

Overall, Small Radios Big Televisions is a fun release on PS4. It might be short (a couple of hours at most), but it certainly has its charm. Jumping in and out of the small, minimalist virtual worlds is entertaining and bizarre, rolled into a tight PlayStation 4 offering.

Super Rude Bear Resurrection is a very fun, challenging and addictive release on PlayStation 4. You'll most certainly die a lot, but you'll also improve your skills as you play, learning from your mistakes and improving your runs. The game has been designed in a way that will pretty much allow anyone to eventually finish it after spending enough time to use all the corpses left behind to reach the goal. Trophy hunters will find in Super Rude Bear Resurrection one of the most challenging Platinum trophies on PlayStation 4 and one that will surely be the centerpiece of the trophy collection of those of you who manage to beat a game that even its creator can't Platinum yet!

Late Shift is an interesting release with a solid story. This being an FMV video game, you'll basically be interacting with a movie that plays on its own for most of the time. The game is only $12 which, considering the cost of a movie ticket these days, ain't bad. There is also a Platinum trophy at the end of the road once you've experienced every story branch and unlocked all endings.

70% - Baboon!
May 15, 2017

Baboon! is a fun little time waster that is very addictive. Not being able to jump completely changes the way you approach this fast-paced release, giving it a unique feel. The graphics are colorful and fun and match the feel of the gameplay, and there's plenty of levels with some clever design that will keep you busy for a while. If you're looking for an entertainable arcade-style release, then be sure to give Baboon! a try!

85% - Flinthook
May 12, 2017

There's a ton of fun to be had with Flinthook if you give it a chance. The roguelike nature of the game certainly isn't for everyone, but if you're up for the challenge and want a game that will always keep you on high alert, then the latest release from Tribute Games is the one you need. I greatly enjoyed my time with the game for my Flinthook review, and I kept playing more even after I was done drafting it since I wanted to see what new challenges the game was going to throw at me. There's a nice variety of enemies to defeat, lots of relics to find, and even a ghost ship to board if you're cursed, so get your gun and hook ready and dive into action! On top of the main adventure, you can also take on the daily and weekly challenges in the main menu so that you can see how good you really are compared to the rest of the world – not to mention you can get some extra green coins for your trouble as well!

60% - Syberia 3
May 11, 2017

I really wanted to love Syberia 3, but the game is, unfortunately, a technical mess. It doesn't run or control properly which is very important for any game, no matter the genre. This takes you away from enjoying the great world that has been created, which is a shame. Hopefully, they can patch the game and help it run better, because the story for Syberia 3 and the art style are certainly very enjoyable.

Overall, we both feel that Star Wars Pinball: Rogue One is one of the strongest pinball tables from Zen Studios, Star Wars or otherwise. There's plenty to do on this pinball table, and its ties to the Rogue One movie will allow fans to greatly enjoy the fast-paced action as they try to take down all enemies on their path in their quest for the highest score of them all.

Human: Fall Flat is a clever game with a minimalist look that will hook you with its puzzles and with the humorous way its main protagonist goes around doing things. Bob is bad at this. Like, really bad, but that's already half the fun! If you're looking for a fun 3D physics-based puzzle game with a decent-sized campaign and plenty of objectives to complete then Human: Fall Flat is just what you need.

If you're looking for a new take on the hockey simulation genre with a 1970s twist, then Old Time Hockey is exactly the game you're looking for. Taking the worse team in the league and completely changing its dynamics, improving their skills as you go is a very rewarding experience – as long as you're ready to lose a ton of games in the process!
