9 / 10 - Apex Legends
Feb 8, 2019

Apex Legends isn't the last Titanfall game that we were waiting for, but it managed to surprise us by its innovative gameplay, inspired not only by the Battle Royale genre, but also by FPS and MOBA games.

9 / 10 - Observer
Feb 7, 2019

Despite the technical downgrade compared with the other versions, Observer is still an extraordinary game with a magnificent cyberpunk atmosphere and some visual effects that would certainly please David Lynch.

When Ski Lifts Go Wrong by its original proposal seemed to have this little fun and crazy thing that makes the difference for this kind of games, it turns out to be boring in its complex handling, redundant in its execution and finally very little entertaining, except if you are passionate about engineering.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 is a good surprise. It is larger, more varied and more epic than the first episode. The only problem is the lack of clarity of the interface, especially during big battles.

AWAY : Journey to the Unexpected can be seen as a charming, crazy, thankfully simple and short game to spend an afternoon on. Sadly, it is also a hollow, redundant and not very interesting experience.

8 / 10 - Unruly Heroes
Jan 31, 2019

Unruly Heroes borrows from Rayman Origins, Trine, Guacamelee, but rather than a sum of references that would drain of his substance, the ideas of these titles that he makes his are magnified thanks to a controlled sense of rhythm, a constant renewal, a sublime artistic direction and an adventure full of humor. Like on a small cloud. Magical.

8 / 10 - Wargroove
Jan 30, 2019

It took a decade for the vacuum left by the absence of Advance Wars to be filled, not by a new game in the series but by Wargroove, an independent title that has all its qualities. The difference is the tone and look, the fantasy world rather than the military too, but for the rest, Wargroove is the turn-based tactical game that fans of the genre were waiting for, especially on Nintendo Switch obviously.

The basics of My Time At Portia are very solid. The opposite would have been surprising regarding the inspirations you have seen in this review. If those have already seduced you in the past, you should not be disappointed. However, do not expect to be surprised, because despite its eminently sympathetic appearance My Time at Portia lacks originality and still suffers collisions issues (minor) and polishing regarding translations.

Looking at the big picture, A Fisherman's Tale has an original and absorbing gameplay, as well as an interesting story, brilliantly narrated. However, the collisions bugs and the shortness of the main story spoils a little bit the experience.

A true tribute to the fans of the saga, this episode traces the end of Sora's journey through the exploration of new worlds, more beautiful and vast than in the past, with a strong respect for the Disney worlds from which it is inspired. In short, Kingdom Hearts III is an imperfect work but overflowing with heart.

5 / 10 - Coffee Crisis
Jan 28, 2019

Coffee Crisis is a nice hommage to the traditional beat'em all games of the 90's, with a hilarious storyline. However the mechanics are too classical and redundant, causing the game to lose his interest quite quickly.

Sending the player at the heart of the horrors of World War II inside Warsaw Ghetto, My Memories of Us uses the conflict to tell a beautiful story of childhood friendship, telling this part of history through their own eyes. With its classic mecanics and some inacurrate collisions, Juggler's game still have a certain charm thanks to its beautifl artistic direction and soundtrack.

8 / 10 - BELOW
Jan 24, 2019

Below is a quite convincing Rogue-lite with good visuals and great music, despites the lack of tutorial and narration, and a progression that can be very tough and frustrating.

The Hong Kong Massacre is the kind of game you'd love to love. It's a very pleasant arcade twin stick shooter that makes us more than efficiently feel like we are in a John Woo movie. But it quickly show its limits, as new ideas or mechanics never show up to give us more than expected.

Recreating Resident Evil 2 20 years later was no easy task but Capcom pulled it off. Resident Evil 2 was handled with love and care and it shows. 2019's Resident Evil 2 is a wonderful Survival Horror that is both terrifying and fun to play. Fans old and new will have a great time with the game. Our only, and minor, complaint is that we wish the remake added more new story content to the original storyline. But other than that, Capcom did the original game justice.

7 / 10 - Pikuniku
Jan 22, 2019

Despite its childish look, Pikuniku tells us a revolutionary tale of a random guy joining a resistance group fighting against an evil corporation. Funny until the end, Devolver's new game may mostly count on its strange physics, even to the point of frustration when the game asks for strong platformer parts. The two-player mode might balance a very short length though.

Rules is a good way to continue the story of Life is Strange 2. This chapter that makes us make some tough decisions regarding the situation can be depressing, soothing, shocking, moving and we are really looking forward to know where Sean and Daniel are taken next time.

With this second episode, The Legacy of the First Blade knifes all the roleplay Ubisoft spent dozens of hours to build in a three-hour short and highly questionable story. Even the great battleships and a brand new weapon wil not save Assassin's Creed Odyssey from this wrongly twisted cliffhanger that might disappoint most adventurers out there.
