9.5 / 10.0 - APE OUT
Mar 20, 2019

I adore Ape Out. Visually it seems very uncomplicated, but step into the shoes of this gorilla and you will find that its simplicity belies a very considered approach to game design.

Asobo Studio brings together a culmination of stunningly beautiful art, hauntingly lovely music, and a wonderfully crafted, heart-wrenching story of a young girl and her brother as they live through the eradication of their family and become targets of the Inquisition during a plague-ridden time period. A Plague Tale: Innocense is not a game you will soon forget or want to pass by.

This game delivers a deep RPG experience where the various choices you make, both in character creation and in gameplay, have a bearing on what happens and how you need to go about completing tasks. There are general guidelines of what needs to be done but not a whole lot of direction on how to do those things, which leaves a lot of room for creativity.

9.5 / 10.0 - DOOM Eternal
Mar 27, 2020

If you loved DOOM 2016 I think you're are going to love DOOM Eternal. It takes the best parts of 2016 and somehow finds a way to improve on them. Throw in some amazing easter eggs, new enemy types, movement mechanics and level design and you have a formula for amazing. Sure it'll take a level or so to figure out this new combat rhythm but once you find it, you'll never want to go back.

While Iris.Fall is a bit shorter than we'd like for it's $39.99 USD price tag it's still a journey we're glad we took! The game has some of the most innovative puzzles we've seen in a game on any platform! Couple the innovation that uses objects in the light and shadow worlds with some spectacular animation and you have a clear cut winner for one of the best puzzle games ever on the Nintendo Switch platform!

Star Wars Pinball VR has given me one of my first experiences on the Quest 2 headset and it didn't disappoint. It has almost everything a Star Wars fan such as myself would want for long gaming sessions with a headset on. For $24.99 it is worth the money to play tables from the original trilogy and some of the other better television shows and movies as well. I highly recommend this title for any VR enthusiast or Star Wars fan.

The control you have while racing puts Hot Wheels Unleashed right up there with some of the other AAA racing titles. Overall, The Fate of Gundabad expansion is a huge addition to the LOTRO world, even without some of the key pieces missing from this patch. I didn't want to give away any of the stories but be assured you will be doing a lot of running around helping the dwarves so get your best horse ready. Currently, the cheapest version of the expansion is the standard edition for 39.99 USD and then you have the Collector's Edition for 79.99 USD and of course, the version we reviewed was the Ultimate Fan Bundle for 129.99 USD. With all of the perks awarded the fan bundle would have been the way, I went even without the review code from Standing Stone Games. I highly recommend old players reinstall LOTRO and jump back in for fun in a community that is still as big as ever.
