The new characters are just the tip of the iceberg of Mr. X Nightmare’s additions. Along with a very well done survival mode and some really interesting that adds even more depth to Streets of Rage 4 combo system, this DLC is a must have for anyone that is a beat ‘em up fan.

9.5 / 10.0 - Boomerang X
Jul 9, 2021

With a sublime execution, Boomerang X wastes no time in getting you into the action. While chaotic in nature, it settles you in a flow state that a lot of first-person action games struggle to. To me, it was like feeling inner peace. An absolute recommendation to anyone who wants to have their reflexes tested or just want a well packaged and fun action game.

8 / 10.0 - Roguebook
Jun 25, 2021

Roguebook can be a bit too reliant on RNG and give you the false impression of “simplicity” due to its aesthetic. But do not be fooled, there’s an extremely compelling and deep deckbuilder with a lot of original ideas. Just get ready for some hard — but rewarding — learning curve.

Gameplay-wise, Red Solstice 2: Survivors is amazing, but the amount of bugs and connectivity issues regarding both single-player campaign and the online multiplayer makes it the worst entry in the franchise. It’s better to wait for updates, or maybe until we colonize Mars.

8.5 / 10.0 - Mighty Goose
Jun 21, 2021

Both appealing to newcomers and veterans, Mighty Goose might be one of the best homages to Metal Slug whilst doing its own thing. It does fall short in some aspects, such as limited routes and not enough enemy variety, but it makes up with a lot of humor and upgrades.

Wasteland’s 3 first major DLC, “The Battle of Steeltown” elevates what, for a long time was an average CRPG to new heights. Not only provides a better narrative, but also more subtle characters, more challenging decisions and doesn’t shy itself from talking about worker rights and politics. This, accompanied by the 1.4.0 patch, makes it the best time to jump back into Wasteland 3.

9 / 10.0 - Maneater
May 31, 2021

The folks at Tripwire Interactive did make some visuals sacrifices to make Maneater run on the Nintendo Switch, but even so, it’s one of the finest examples of how you should handle a port. From accessibility to maintaining a good framerate. On top of that, it’s a fantastic open world game that doesn’t pad itself out and has a very clear design goal. Also, you get to be a shark! What more do you want?

8 / 10.0 - BIOMUTANT
May 27, 2021

Biomutant is very uneven, almost like a “best of” AAA mechanics of the past few years. At the same time, its world is so evoking, so full of life and interesting stories – if you are willing to put the effort to find them – that’s hard not to feel compelled to enjoy it to the fullest.

Metro Exodus Enhanced Editions feels like one of the very few games that take fully advantage of the ray tracing tech – for better or worse. There are some changes that might completely change the mood of a scene and sometimes it works best on its DLCs. Even so, if you have the power to run it on ultra, its not only one of the best-looking games on PC, but also an amazing shooter.

Total War: Rome Remastered is surely a game of its time. A period where Creative Assembly decided to be bold and push the franchise a step further. The remastered version still has a lot of flaws of the original, but even so is still one of the finest and most fun games the developer has ever created.

No matter what kind of Stellaris player you are, Nemesis and its 3.0 update has a bit of everything. I will impact the way you see populations, factions and especially the way you discover the galaxy. Certainly a major turning point for the Grand Strategy.

At its best, Evil Genius 2 nails the aesthetics and humor of the original. Sadly, that comes at a huge price of an interesting “world map”, interface issues and uninteresting secondary quests. For developer that revitalized the Nazi Zombie Army franchise, it comes off as a disappointment.

5.5 / 10.0 - Black Legend
Apr 1, 2021

A great foundation soured by unbalanced classes, uninteresting story and an extremely linear exploration. Black Legend could’ve a future if updated and polished further, but I don’t see that happening.

Stronghold: Warlords really shakes up the formula and brings the franchise to a new era. Sadly, this is hidden behind an uninteresting campaign and a lackluster multiplayer mode. Warlords has a strong foundation, but it desperately needs a community to thrive.

6.5 / 10.0 - Loop Hero
Mar 8, 2021

Loop Hero’s world is full of mysteries and wonder… at least for the first couple of hours. Once the “magic” lifts the game turns into a massive grind with very little payoff and limited deckbuilding choices.

Field of Glory 2: Medieval still has the “magic touch” that drives you to do “one more battle”, but the change in warfare during the medieval period shows how much restrictive is its rule system – making what should’ve been exciting battles into a slog.

7.5 / 10.0 - Ys IX: Monstrum Nox
Feb 16, 2021

Although I do appreciate what Falcom tried to do with a huge change of pace and ambience in Ys IX, the city of Balduq is far too uninteresting in comparison to previous Ys entries and the narrative takes itself way too seriously. Thankfully, the combat is still amazing and what makes Ys IX: Monstrum Nox a must play for die hard Ys fans.

10 / 10.0 - Hitman 3
Feb 11, 2021

Hitman 3’s heavy focus on story might be a turn off for some, but it still manages to wrap the trilogy featuring some of the best maps and it shows how much IO Interactive evolved during its development. It’s the game that begs you to embrace chaos and don’t care for the consequences – as long as the objective is fulfilled, of course.

For a game that is so focused on telling a compelling story, the use of roguelike mechanics in Sword of Necromancer not only feels out of place but also drags the game down to a point which only the most invested or stubborn ones will reach the ending.

5.5 / 10.0 - Empire of Sin
Dec 8, 2020

“Empire of Sin is great when every mechanic and system are in its place and in perfect harmony. Sadly, these moments are few and far between. At this point its just a very great game in theory. Maybe Romero Games will make it better with expansions and updates, but that remains to be seen”.
