Tower 57 confusing and often annoying progression system and uninteresting weapon upgrades undermine what is a beautiful and amazingly well polished shooter.

Bastard’s Wound goes against everything that made Tyranny a special RPG. Interesting quests are intertwined with tedious dialogue in one of the blandest areas from any Obsidian game.

Sudden Strike 4 forgets what made the franchise great, a solid single-player content. With its lackluster campaign, bugs and terrible unit pathfinding, its best to skip it and play the classics.

Lack of depth, average story and repetitive mission design makes Aven Colony a great looking, but bland city builder.

As soon as the flashy and over the top battles wears out, Dawn of War III leaves a sour taste in the mouth of a RTS that fails to build upon its previous entries and poor mechanics.

With all its neon covered aesthetics, DESYNC is far too punishing and instead of touting creative kills, it makes survivability the core mechanic.

Its colorful graphics and an interesting twist on its turn based combat mechancis aren't enough to shake the feeling that Stars in the Shadow came a bit too late to the 4X party.

A story dragged down by serious bugs and a poor implementation of real time pausable combat. For now, you’re better off with the novels.

Poor AI and terribly structured campaign makes us believe that we would be better off only with fond memories of previous Cossacks titles.

Even with an interesting story and characters, Eisenhorn fails in every other aspect.

A lukewarm experience takes creativity out of Dead Rising 4 in favor of streamlined game mechanics and story heavy sequences. Bashing zombies is still fun, but only for a couple of minutes.

Few compelling scenarios in a midst of poor AI, terrible optimization and a myriad of bugs. You’re better off sticking with the classics.

Despite being upfront about racism and dealing with it in a thoughtful manner and having an enthralling story, to experience it, Mafia 3 asks the player to go through one of the most repetitive missions designs in the decade.

While Arboria has some strong artstyle, its roguelite mechanics feel more like a massive padding to hide reused enemies, a unfun combat system and lack of weapon variety. For a year filled with great roguelites, this one should be on the bottom of your list.

A great foundation soured by unbalanced classes, uninteresting story and an extremely linear exploration. Black Legend could’ve a future if updated and polished further, but I don’t see that happening.

“Empire of Sin is great when every mechanic and system are in its place and in perfect harmony. Sadly, these moments are few and far between. At this point its just a very great game in theory. Maybe Romero Games will make it better with expansions and updates, but that remains to be seen”.

Much like the axolotls in real life, I’d rather watch than play more of “AK-xolotl”. It has a good foundation, but its unnecessarily complicated meta progression, lack of weapons and build variety makes its runs frustrating and repetitive.

Beautiful visuals can’t do much when “Atlas Fallen” combat, story and encounter design is so shallow. It could’ve been an amazing game if its scope was more limited. As of now, it just stands as another “open world” game that was released in 2023.

Trepang2’s gameplay is what carries most, if not, the entire game. Its lackluster missions paired with some of the most mind-numbing narrative and an attempt to recreate what made “F.E.A.R.” great without understanding the source material. If you want to just to mangle bodies, go for it, but there are far better shooters in 2023.

“Warlander” is fully packed with good ideas and promises of a great game. But, as of launch, its myriad of issues that go from unit balancing to lack of proper communication between teammates. It’s still fun in short bursts, but don’t come expecting this to be your next big multiplayer game.
