Pardis Game's Reviews

8.5 / 10.0 - Hunt: Showdown
Sep 13, 2019

By a seemingly well-done combination of PvE and PvP elements, Crytek has done a great job in depicting the risky life of a bounty hunter, stuck in a post apocalypse in late 1890s. Realistic combat and the astonishing atmosphere of Hunt: Showdown provide a great opportunity for players who want to experience survival horror and battle royale together, like no other game. However, relatively clunky gunplay and somehow poor graphical optimization are two things that prevent this game from becoming a masterpiece

Children of Morta is a quality game with a fantastic narrative that despite of some of its issues, offers a really good experience. But the developers' focus on balancing the experience in co-op multiplayer mode has caused some shortcomings in the single player mode

6 / 10.0 - Telling Lies
Sep 6, 2019

There are two things in Telling Lies encouraging you to continue searching and watching all videos: great performance of actors and finding the truth. However, some weird gameplay mechanisms and story's plot holes keep annoying you from start to finish. And when the game finally ends, you probably start asking some serious questions about the whole story and the logic behind it

The Great Perhaps shows how it is possible to implement a great idea in the worst way. Switching between present and past times has good potential for both telling an interesting story and making a challenging gameplay, but the weird story, dull puzzles, and broken game mechanisms destroy this potential

2.5 / 10.0 - Run Roll Rumble
Aug 31, 2019

Run Roll Rumble takes the Super Smash Bros formula and gets nearly everything wrong about that game. It's filled with big issues and bad design choices that make it impossible to have fun with, and a severe lack of players that makes its online features completely useless. If you're after a good party game, there are much better alternatives out there

7 / 10.0 - Summer Catchers
Aug 30, 2019

Summer Catchers is a charming endless runner game with wonderful presentation and style, and an interesting narration. But the progression system, which is completely based on RNG and grinding rather than the players' skill, ultimately damages the experience

8 / 10.0 - Darq
Aug 30, 2019

DARQ is a creative and fun game that every moment of it can be enjoyed. Such creative riddles are rarely found in a video game these days and the game also tells a beautiful conceptual story that is not easy to understand for everyone, and can be said to rely too much on symbols. This is not very appealing to today's gamers. Therefore, it cannot be considered as something close to a masterpiece and only remains at a very good level

7 / 10.0 - Control
Aug 29, 2019

Control is a good action game which can deliver some exciting moments with its engaging combat system. Jesse abilities and the way she can interact with the environment by being able to get hold of EVERY object and throw them at her enemies is magnificent. Apart from that, the visuals and the fact that verything can be completely destructed by players are also astonishing. However, the dull empty open world of Control with its boring side missions and activities along the shallow story and poor character processing make this game a forgettable experience

4 / 10.0 - Forged of Blood
Aug 26, 2019

Due to its Developers' unnecessary ambition, Forged of Blood has become a mixture of confusing mechanics and the interesting story never gets a chance to shine because of several issues in the game

Being an extremely faithful remaster, Metal Wolf Chaos XD is definitely not up to today's standards. It's outdated in many aspects; but for the most part, it knows how to be ridiculously fun & entertaining. If you're not used to how old games were like, cannot handle absurd humor and most importantly, cannot tolerate playing a game in 30fps, you're not going to enjoy it. Otherwise, you're going to love it

Mighty Switch Force! Collection is a brilliant way to bring all the games in the series together and introduce them to a wider audience. But it could have been much better than what it currently is, boasting more features and content (like the "Hose It Down!" spin-off title) to make it the ultimate collection of the series' history. Nevertheless, it contains 4 really fun puzzle platformer titles which previous fans of the series and even newcomers to the franchise can enjoy playing alike.

7 / 10.0 - Dry Drowning
Aug 14, 2019

Dry Drowning offers an engaging story that keeps its quality in almost every game moments. The hard decisions and dilemmas also add more spice to the experience. However, when it comes to some of the gameplay mechanisms such as the Living Nightmare system, the game is not quite satisfying.

Lightstep Chronicles is a very good game with an absorbing story telling in its own genre. If you like visual novels and can deal with the game's short play time, then go ahead and experience the game. Otherwise, LC doesn't really have much to offer to you

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is not a flawless game and certain parts of it could have been much better, but no one can deny its high production values and how masterfully it is made. Wonder Boy / Monster World fans will find themselves right at home and experience a vastly improved but extremely faithful successor to those titles, and newcomers to the franchise can enjoy playing one of the best and most fun metroidvania titles released in the recent years

Unfortunately, KILL la KILL -IF is a game that could have been great, but its issues have prevented it from happening. The game can satisfy KILL la KILL fans with its dazzling graphics and faithful take on the story. But it fails to capture the attention of players who are not familiar with the source material. This, coupled with a flawed camera system, a small amount of available content, and some questionable design choices such as locking nearly everything behind story mode completion, sadly makes for a mediocre title

6 / 10.0 - Defend The Keep
Aug 10, 2019

The game has tried to walk on the boundaries of innovation and the use of familiar ideas, and it's up to the player to determine whether it succeeds or not. This game is not a bad game at all, but that doesn't also mean we're looking at a good game. If you can get away with the uniformity of the gameplay and its low variety, and a lack of logic in the story, you will surely have a good time with its attractive level design, ear-catching music and beautiful artistic design

Youngblood is a bold move; some of its changes are good ad reasonable. Some of the others seem great on paper but are not executed well. And some shouldn't even exist in the first place (I'm looking at you microtransactions). Maybe those good ideas will have better execution if the developers learn from their mistakes but that is for the future titles to be seen. But what about Youngblood itself? If you're a Wolfenstein fan, despite its flaws Youngblood can be enjoyable; like a cold drink in this hot summer

Stranger Things 3 is able to revive the memories of old games and create a relatively good experience with well-done level design and clever puzzles. But unfortunately, it have also failed to create a balance in the gameplay and created many highs & lows because of camera angle issues, control issues and a high amount of bugs

5 / 10.0 - Night Call
Jul 29, 2019

Night Call tries to combine adventure and simulation genres to present something completely new, but it fails and the result is a dull game which usually forgets its main story. Still, it is possible to find some interesting moments in listening to passengers and their life story, but it comes with the price of standing poor gameplay and annoying bugs.

8.5 / 10.0 - Streets of Rogue
Jul 26, 2019

Thanks to its long early access period, Streets of Rogue achieves what a good Rogue-lite should; An addictive experience that takes hold of you while presenting itself with new and varied content on each turn of play. If you love this genre, this is a must have. For others? If you enjoy freedom of choices and approaches and pixelated graphics, Streets of Rogue can be both enjoyable and an introduction to the world of Rogue-lites
