Fragments of Him is a walking simulator that tells the story of Will, a bisexual young man worried about falling into the routine and dying in a car accident. The storytelling takes place indirectly, through monologues on staggered timelines and recited by people who have been more intimate. A narrative at times exceptional and exciting, but spoiled by a technical realization closer to the demos of the indie scene.

Absolver offers a truly unique take on the combat genre, with a peculiar mix between single and multiplayer. Technically solid and visually inspired, it suffers from a sometimes confused level design and the absence of a real, high-level endgame.

A new defensive approach, a new mode and a bunch of fixes are just a few of the spearheads of NBA 2K18, a game that's very easy to learn, but very very difficult to master indeed. The best title of the series without any doubt, and one of the best sports titles published thus far.

The PS4 version of Windjammers is a perfect replica of the legendary Neo Geo game, with the added bonus of the online multiplayer. It still stands the test of time, but it's best played with some friends over a couple of drinks.

Project CARS 2 is still a rough diamond, but with a couple of patches Slightly Mad Studios could unleash all the potential of a real racing sim gem. Out of the box, anyway, the game offers one of the best race experiences on the market, with a great driving model which is amazing, played both with a joypad and a racing wheel. Sometimes the AI is still too aggressive and hits too hard on the throttle even when it should not, and the Rallycross experience is quite clumsy, but overall, with this great offer of tracks and cars, if you love to race in every possible weather condition and you want to feel the real meaning of bagarre, Project CARS 2 is definitely your brutal, physical and thrilling racing game.

Overall, Pillars of Eternity is an excellent old-fashioned role-playing game, very deep, long-lived and – fortunately – transported almost painlessly on PlayStation 4. It is a tribute to a way of making role-playing games perhaps a little too old school, which maybe will turn up their noses at those who do not even take the pad in hand without being in front of an infinity of polygons, but who will be able to conquer - with good probability - the adventurers looking for something more substantial.

Despite its being a little bit easier than the "regular" XCOM 2 and some AI issues, War of the Chosen is one of the best DLC out there: big, with a lot of stuffs and enjoyable from the beginning to the end. If you love the genre, you should not miss it for any reason.

Everybody's Golf is joyful, fun and packed of amazing things to do. Clap Hanz reinvented its take on golf with a gripping online mode and a very functional ability progression system without losing the "easy to learn, hard to master" attitude of the series. The game lacks on the technical side, but it's fun to play and is really meant for everyone, so if you don't hate to spend time on the green, Everybody's Golf is really worth playing.

Last Day of June is an intimate and moving adventure, yet elegant and sophisticated. Albeit a linear structure and some minor gameplay flaws, it's a game that tells an extremely human story, with some unexpected surprises, and where the gameplay drives the narrative. A shining example of how videogames can be an authentic expression of emotions.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is a very bold game that manages to talk about mental issues in a truly emotional way, using the gameplay dynamics of an action adventure. It's an authentic manifesto of how videogames can deal with serious matters in a way that fits perfectly the medium. And if you'll decide to go along with Senua in her descent to darkness, you'll probably remember her for the rest of your life.

Codemasters has finally completed the transformation process of F1 series: F1 2017 is exactly what a fan should expect from a perfect simcade racing game, despite the Ego Engine is almost at the end of its life. Buy it, play it and enjoy it: you will not regret.

Supergiant Games just gave us another gem: despite some verbose sections and the amount of text to read (that can be overwhelming at times), Pyre has a sophisticated art direction, a compelling and charming story, and an original and unique take on the RPG genre.

That's you, the first title in the PlayLink series, has gameplay that works flawlessly, great production values, and astounding attention to detail. If you have a party of close friends with a healthy dose of self-irony, it can be an excellent filler for your nights together.

Vicarious Visions did a great job in preserving the original vibe of the Bandicoot saga while giving a brand new contemporary look to the games. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is a great journey through the PSX age without the aging effect, and it's a solid comeback for Crash. The three platform games are still fun today, and Warped is as amazing as it was almost 20 years ago. Maybe the design of the first, iconic, chapter is a little bit old-fashioned, but overall the collection has a great value both for nostalgic players and newcomers.

MotoGP is basically Valentino Rossi: The Game without The Italian Doctor. The game still works, and it's still fun, but it seems like the devs are waiting for the next year to finally bring the series into a new era.

MXGP3 is a transitional chapter in the motocross saga from Milestone. The potential is huge, but the debut of the Unreal Engine 4 in the game is quite disappointing. The new handling model is largely amendable, and the AI is worse than the previous chapters. Overall MXGP3 is a fun game, but surely not the best in the series.

Beat Cop is an intriguing and entertaining re-imagining of the police TV shows of the ’80s, with a clever design, some action and lot of choices for the player. There are always too many things to do, and too little time to do them, and as any real cop knows, boredom is part of the process.

WipEout is a religion, the air brakes are its ministers, and speed is its only temple. Omega Collection is the celebration of its creed, the three chapters of the saga gathered in one, thrilling experience. If you love speed, you can't possibly want to miss it.

The new chapter of this legendary beat'em up saga is bigger, bolder and faster: with a new graphics engine, new characters, new combat tecniques and tons of new game modes, it's definitely a must-have for every virtual fighter out there. And somehow, after all these years, the combat system still manages to make the player feel truly powerful.

Endless Space 2 is the best videogame ever developed by Amplitude Studios. It's a 4X strategic game with a deep (and unusual, for this kind of productions) storyline and an almost flawless gameplay.
