7 / 10.0 - WWE 2K18
Oct 17, 2017

For all die hard WWE fans I can imagine that WWE 2K18 is brilliant, with all your favourite superstars on the roster you could spend a whole year playing as each character, which I'm guessing is 2K Sports idea. With all the game modes available you can find anything for any situation. Got some friends around, then take on a Royal Rumble and see who can last the longest. Alternatively have a Fatal 4-Way Hardcore match and see who can cause the most bodily harm. If you are on your own, then spend some time creating your wrestler and taking them through a career and see how high you can move up the ladder. All in all, WWE 2K18 is a fun game to play, if you aren't aware of the WWE universe then you probably won't enjoy this. However, being a fan of the sport since childhood it was refreshing to play a new iteration of the 2K Sports series.

8 / 10.0 - FIFA 18
Oct 17, 2017

Whilst the game isn't perfect in any form, it is another step forward and sometimes feels like 2 steps back. If you are a fan of the series then I think there is plenty for you to get your teeth into. FUT returns with the addition of challenges as well as Icons of the game, career mode adds a few additions to give you more of a sense that you are actually in control of your chosen team. There have been a few things taken out, like last years penalty system, thats reverted back to a standard shoot mechanic, and for some reason I can't find the early cross button for the life of me. All in all FIFA 18 is solid, yes it has it's flaws, but then so do Liverpool.

Unscored - Deceit
Oct 18, 2017

If you love Trouble in Terrorist Town, you’ll enjoy yourself playing Deceit, but, it has a low population, and you miss out on all of the other activities you can get into with something like Gary’s Mod. Gary’s Mod has nearly 52,000 players in the last 30 days, against only 107 on Deceit. But, like I said, there’s tons more to do in Gary’s Mod. If you’re looking for exclusively Trouble in Terrorist Town, those numbers drop significantly for Gary’s Mod, but I’d suspect nowhere near as low as Deceit.

There is a lot to see and a lot to explore in Solus Project. Gliese-6143-C is a vast open planet you won’t get round quickly. If this is your style of game then you will play this for quite some time and is worth the money.

I would put Voltron VR Chronicles alongside Batman Arkham VR and Spider-Man Homecoming VR as it’s an experience more than a game. I personally quite enjoyed the story and it’s made me curious to see the remake of the TV Show. At $15 (UK Price TBA) it’s reasonable value for any fans of the series looking to see a new story. But, that’s the only way I would recommend it (Or if you’re looking to obtain a very easy Platinum). It’s definitely enjoyable and has been put together very nicely for VR it just lacks any real gaming content

I really doubt that this game will be something that people will want to play over and over again. With the wooden acting and poor character models, one play though is plenty for me. Not to mention how many times you need to watch the story to obtain the clues and see all characters. By the end of it you will probably know the story better than the characters in it. Hardened trophy hunters will find a good amount here to work through. (I commend you for how many times you will have to listen to ‘Detective Gustav Gustav’).

Spintires: Mudrunner is very addictive. It won’t appeal to everyone. I have to admit I was curious on this one but I wasn’t excited about it. Now I’ve played it that has changed. There is something about this game that makes you want to play just a little more and see what else you can discover.

Assassin’s Creed Origins is a worthy addition to the franchise and in my opinion, is among It’s best. I’d still have to say Assassins Creed 2 is my favourite, but Origins certainly has me excited for where they can go in the future. Ubisoft taking a year out after Syndicate was definitely the right move (I’ll admit I was wrong when I said they didn’t need to as Syndicate was a perfectly good game). I still say that I enjoyed Syndicate but Origins is by far a better game. If you’re a fan of the franchise then this is without a doubt a must. If you’re not a fan of Assassin’s Creed then unfortunately I don’t think this game is enough of a change to bring you on board (but then again if you don’t like Assassin’s Creed why are you reading an AC review?)

I can only go off what I have played so far, and that has been glorious, yes there are a few controversies surrounding Wolfenstein II, but what game doesn’t seem to have controversy following it. The story line is fun and engaging, especially with the often mutterings of BJ to a dead friend. The audio and graphics all both give great compliment to the game and shooting heads off has never been so much fun! This game is a great addition to the Wolfenstein name and I am sure that the coming DLC will only expand on what is already a great game to play through.

4 / 10.0 - Oure
Nov 21, 2017

Oure has been released after a couple of better games in the same format. It fails to live up to the expectations of the first few minutes and becomes a chore very quickly. I can't see the game being as successful as its predecessors which is a shame as it started with so much promise. It is rather like climbing into a Ferrari, sitting in the seats, admiring the experience that you are about to have only to discover it's got the engine from a Fiat Cinquecento in it. Oure lacks the substance to succeed, but if you want a really nice flying dragon simulator I guess you have found your match.

7 / 10.0 - Tyler: Model 005
Oct 1, 2018

Reversed Interactive bring us the slightly oddly titled Tyler: Model 005, the story of a robot. Not sure if I need to read up on robotics, but rest assured that’s not going to happen. Time to put my I into this AI and go on an adventure.

8 / 10.0 - 8-Bit Armies
Oct 2, 2018

8-Bit Armies developed by Petroglyph and published by Soedesco is a fast paced real-time strategy game that has a strong similarity to the Command & Conquer franchise and is depicted in a voxel manner, i.e the graphics are made up of blocky pixels.

8 / 10.0 - WWE 2K19

For all you wrestling fans out there I would seriously consider having WWE 2K19 on your Christmas list as it is great for both solo and multiplayer gaming, just what you need in the festive period.

8 / 10.0 - Battlefield V
Dec 20, 2018

Battlefield V is an absolute joy to play either by yourself or even with buddies. The squad system is more than enough to keep you engaged in the game with the visual spectacle of the battlefield and superb audio in your ears, this game is only going to get better over time. What makes this a good Battlefield is that you can have many hours not only in multiplayer mode but in single play too.

Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition Is certainly a 'marmite' type of game: You're going to love or hate it. If you're a fan of the previous instalments this should be on the "must play" list as there is quite enough depth to the game to keep you occupied for hours. However, if you're not a fan of an almost endless mob killing extravaganza then I would stay clear of this game as it really won't last long and you will end up playing something else.

It’s a little hard for me to answer the question ‘does it live up the hype?’ as I wasn’t really hyped up for the game until just before Christmas, so I haven’t had 14 years of waiting to compare it to. That said, it’s a very polished game that is incredibly fun to play, and a game that has no loot crates or microtransactions (at the time of writing this review). A very big plus in my book (as I’m sure anyone that’s read my previous reviews of certain games will know). There is almost nothing bad that I can say about Kingdom Hearts 3. In today’s gaming world, I think that is rare and a testament to the effort put into it by the Square Enix guys. Anyone looking for a family-friendly adventure game to enjoy really needs to check this one out (and play the previous releases as well).

1 / 10.0 - Spike Volleyball
Feb 7, 2019

I’ve heard the term ‘floater’ used in Volleyball before and well I could quite easily see that term fitting adequately here (although I’m sure in the sport it has a different meaning). There is very little here that deserves praising and the whole package feels like a rush job. For a full price title I’ve come to expect a certain level of quality and they seem to have left it in the locker room with Spike Volleyball. I’m sure it will have its fans, and after enough beer with a few friends it may be something to put on for a laugh, but other than that, my recommendation is ‘STAY AWAY’

10 / 10.0 - Worbital
Feb 8, 2019

How long will Worbital last? Well, how long is a piece of string? It is most certainly a game where you can lose hours and hours taking on friends and foe. It’s chaotic and you definitely will enjoy every moment you spend playing the game. I keep diving back into Worbital just to get a taste of planetary carnage. Overall Team Jolly Roger have created what i consider to be an instant classic. So much so that we recently started a new series over on the youtube channel and this was the game we played first. Worbital brings space battles to the smaller screen and definitely lives up to its galactic aims.

All in all, Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics is a fairly accessible tactical strategy game. It lacks some of the extra bits that an Xcom game brings to the table. Some might welcome this difference. It’s a fairly easy jumping in point for people who have been too worried about the difficulty of other games in the genre, but have wanted to give it a try. While it isn’t the prettiest girl at the party, it does what it sets out to. It gives you a short contained adventure through alternate horror reality World War II.
