Mega Man X Legacy Collection is a logical move by Capcom that they could have phoned in by just porting the PS2 collection and calling it a day. Instead they added Rookie Hunter Mode, X Challenge, and all the Extras you could ask for, all wrapped up in a competent interface to carry you between each game.

Great art and design can't make up for dated, semi-open world adventuring.

6.5 / 10.0 - The Mooseman

An interesting and widely untold story can't do enough to gloss over The Mooseman's gameplay pitfalls.

7 / 10.0 - Danger Zone 2
Jul 18, 2018

Danger Zone 2 is an explosive and fun, if short, game. It's flashy and exciting where it counts, despite having a few bugs that can be major annoyances, and at the end of the day, still worth a try.

Even a couple of interesting quirks can't stop Earthfall from falling flat.

5.5 / 10.0 - Mothergunship
Jul 16, 2018

Though the core gameplay is as rock solid as Tower of Guns, MOTHERGUNSHIP's weapon crafting is a victim of lost potential. Still, we're hopeful that Terrible Posture Games can turn it around with future updates.

9 / 10.0 - Rifter
Jul 12, 2018

Despite, or maybe even because the game is so relentless, Rifter is such a rewarding experience, making each level a cause for celebration while simultaneously hitting you with your next eulogy.

All-Star Fruit Racer is a bold attempt at making a name for itself in an oversaturated genre. Unfortunately, the lack of focus on delivering a consistent product has left AFR a little under-ripe and could have done with a bit more time to develop.

7 / 10.0 - Blacksea Odyssey
Jul 10, 2018

It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but Blacksea Odyssey is a great example of bringing something new into a saturated genre.

A great entry into an already beloved franchise, Mario Tennis Aces introduces a brand new tennis mechanic that although is difficult to master, superb visuals and a brand new adventure mode. However, those gamers looking to play this solo will struggle to find anything worthwhile due to the huge focus of both online and local multiplayer.

Shed some blood, save the world. It's a long hard road but the journey is incredible and fun, while the big advantage here is being able to take the slaughter on the go. It isn't the best version visibly, but for Switch owners who haven't experienced the glorious bullet-bath, it's a pure thrill.

We'd like to focus on how deep and intricate the game is, or how much fun it can be learning different characters, but the way Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle handles its DLC and roster can't be ignored. Take 2 points away if you hate DLC, more if, like me, you hate the fact Enkidu from Under Night isn't included.

Despite Captain Spirit's length, its ability to draw the player in and form an emotional bond with its characters is outstanding and follows the example set by Life is Strange.

When Jurassic World Evolution works, it really works, offering a bounty of nostalgia, beauty, and enjoyable gameplay. It just lacks the depth and variety to be the time sink many assuredly want it to be.

6 / 10.0 - Suicide Guy

It's far from terrible, but a long way from excellent. A neat idea simply lacks any major pizazz to make it worth your time or money.

6 / 10.0 - Omega Strike
Jun 11, 2018

There's a lot of a fun to be had with Omega Strike, as its gameplay, graphics and soundtrack are certainly great. Unfortunately, it suffers from plenty of poor design issues that hamper the game's real potential.

8.5 / 10.0 - Onrush
Jun 5, 2018

Onrush is a lot of things. It's brash, bold, experimental, but most importantly, really good fun to play. Its success will be determined by how well the team based concept catches on with gamers at large, but we've got high hopes for it.
