BattleTech in the form of a video game is a beautiful reference to the original board game. It's a unique tactical turn-based strategy game that sets new trends in this genre. Until competitors won't think of resurrecting other games with mechs, BattleTech is without question a master-class.

Thrones of Britannia is a very good start of the Total War Saga series. It's not a revolutionary or an amazing title, but it has interesting and fresh elements that can attract players and gather new followers of the genre. This new approach to the brand – to make smaller and historically accurate games – makes me extremely happy.

Give Frostpunk a chance – you’ll soon find out that this is yet another ambitious project from 11 bit studios that is greater than the sum of its parts. This very atmospheric "survival strategy" deserves a success and the developers should know that they are on the right path of achieving it.

The new God of War brings back Kratos in a superb fashion. Santa Monica studio should do the same for a potential sequel and I won't be able to worry about my favorite hero. The game is bold in introducing some radical changes to the series' formula but if you stop looking back you'll know – this is an excellent game in every way.

Northgard is a surprisingly great game. It will appeal both to fans of The Settlers series and to enthusiasts of multiplayer strategies. Additionally, it sounds nice, looks decent and it has a high replay value. Even the single-player campaign is well-made and interesting. Northgard is a great example of perfecting the use of Early Access.

Sea of Thieves is a letdown. In its core it seems like a pleasant game for a few, or maybe a dozen hours that you can test for free by activating the Xbox Game Pass account. The cooperation in this game works really neat. But on the other hand, there are several problems like server issues and lack of content. Furthermore, the game is quite expensive.

Far Cry 5 is a weird case - some things are much better than before, and some definitely are not. A giant, exciting sandbox full of activities provides lots of satisfaction but there is not enough emphasis on storyline and the campaign itself. It is not a bad game but it would be nice to finally redefine madness and make something better than the excellent Far Cry 3.

Pizza Connection 3 tries to do its best to emulate all the things that made PC2 a success. Unfortunately the potential was wasted - the game has some serious technical issues, the gameplay is mediocre, the fun is bland and the difficulty level is too high.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is good game – nothing more and nothing less. It provides tons of fun and enters the “co-op hall of fame” without looking back. Unfortunately I can’t shake off the feeling that the release was a bit rushed; the game arguably feels more like an Early Access version.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue is a very unnecessary remaster because it doesn’t improve the core game in any way. There are some minor tweaks in the graphics department, but it looks just like any other next-gen port of an older game.

A Way Out is more than just the sum of its parts; when all the game’s elements are working together, the end result is almost surprisingly good. A very simple storyline steadily develops into a great thriller, and the gameplay is unceasingly, relentlessly gripping. The co-op backbone is what really makes this game a fantastic choice.

Yakuza 6 is not a game for everyone, but you can’t deny it a certain charm. I followed a very cool storyline for many hours and I have happily frittered some time away playing various mini-games. The combat becomes repetitive after a while, but, all in all, this is a really great game.

Ghost of a Tale is just a beautiful dream – flawed. Superb characters, cool story and pretty graphics fall under the spell of clunky gameplay. It would be good if the world was big, open and inviting or if the game had 50% les quests and a shorter story. Tilo’s adventure is more of a movie material than a game – it lacks the input of experienced developers.

Surviving Mars is a pleasant economic strategy game with pretty graphics, atmospheric music, and a very captivating gameplay. Setting up various martian colonies provides tons of fun, especially in the beginning. In the later stages of the game, it seems a bit weird to play, but this might be caused by the fact that the full potential of this game has not been realized yet.

Burnout Paradise Remastered dusts off the old game, but doesn’t stand out in any particular way – it simply is all right. If you own a console and don’t know this game, it’s a great opportunity to give it a shot – it’s still as great as it ever was. If you own a PC, you can just go back to The Ultimate Box.

Pure Farming 2018 is a title ripe with content – five maps guarantee dozens of hours of fun, while the amount of crops to grow and the variety of ways of earning money is more than satisfying. It’s a pity that the game features so few machines and suffers from some technical issues. Still – for a debut, it is pretty impressive.

Fans of classic Metal Gear games will probably find little of interest here; their overall impressions of the game ought to be mediocre – Survive simply fails to captivate. The magical atmosphere known from Snake’s adventures is nowhere to be found. However, the new MGS should appeal to enthusiasts of survival – there’s a lot of it here. If you like exploration, gathering and crafting, give it a shot.

Rust is a true survival game phenomenon. There's no other game like this with equally fierce and aggressive community. The gameplay is a unique experience that makes you feel and think primal, therefore it's not a title for everyone. The thrill may be addictive, but it's not a game that can be played for several hours a day.

Age of Empires: Definitive Edition is a game stuck midway between the past and the present. The remastering process took a lot of work and turned out pretty good but I can’t understand why the gameplay was left intact without any modern polish. At first, the nostalgia was strong but fighting with the archaic solutions over and over again for a few hours was too much for me and I got bored.
