When I first saw Wonder Blade, I kind of assumed it would be a goofy little adventure, nothing too much more. But I was proven wrong. Trying to get your combo hits in a row as high as possible with a lot of fun. The armor changes serve a purpose other than just defense; it was a nice little touch and surprised me. There were so many small things in Wonder Blade that you may find in games of this genre. I was happy and excited to see that many of them were found in this one. It made it feel like more of a solid game. At $14.99, it's certainly worth the price.
While there are good ideas presented here, PHOGS! is too slow and unexciting for it to stand out from the crowd.
Roundout by POWGI is a fun word game mixing crosswords and word wheels to test your mind that you can pick up and play anywhere at any time.
Kolumno is a simple puzzle game with a focus on timing and execution that makes for a good test of your brain and your reflexes for such a low price.
OctaFight is a good-looking multiplayer arcade game with fun music and a unique art style. However, unless you have up to eight friends on your couch, you'll soon get bored after a handful of rounds.
You may not think a game based on forklift operation could be all that entertaining. With the right group of friends working either cooperatively or competitively, however, you'll get some fun out of What the Fork. Just be sure to avoid having to work alone.
Electro Ride: The Neon Racing suffers from touchy controls and an overall lack of depth. It's not amongst the best racing options available for the Switch, but it does contain a couple of unique elements that may appeal to gamers looking for something a little different.
Steampunk Tower 2 is a tower defense game that's more grinding and flat rather than filled with strategic gameplay with an engaging story. It looks pretty and controls nicely, but there isn't much to do.
TAURONOS it's just a game that I could not get into. The puzzles seemed dull and very uncomplex. It felt more like a game that I had played on a mobile device years ago, not a game releasing on a console. Whether I am taking my Switch on the go or playing in my living room, there are many other games I'd rather play.
Monster Truck Championship isn't the worst or the best racing game I've ever played. The frame rate and visuals are good, and the overall presentation and setup are fine. Regardless, whether you are a fan of monster trucks or racing games in general, I would say that it isn't worth the price of $39.99. I can't see myself going back to it since the controls are dicey and that the game itself is average and forgettable.
Art Sqool fails as both an "art school simulator" and a video game. There's nothing educational here, and its gameplay is the equivalent of scribbles I might've drawn as a toddler.
Absolute Drift: Zen Edition is a peaceful driving game crafted to focus on control, precision and challenging yourself.
SYNTHETIK: Ultimate provides a good old-fashioned shoot-'em-all with plenty of tactical difficulty. There are enough levels, avatar classes, and weapons to keep a gamer busy for a fair number of hours. The game could stand some controls and training improvement, but it is a worthy action/arcade entry.
Vera Blanc: Full Moon is an adventure game wrapped in a graphic novel. It's a little unpolished, but the mystery is fun to unravel, with comic-style panels and dialogue alongside optional minogames.
Space Invaders Forever is a solid but overpriced collection that presents three unique spins on the classic Space Invaders formula. It's by no means complete, but whether you're looking for a quick party game or some solitary nostalgia, there's a variation or two here for you.
Shady Part of Me is a game that puzzle platformer enthusiasts will most likely enjoy. But when all's said and done, it looks like this will stay in the shadows compared to the indies it takes ideas from. It's fun at the time, but ultimately forgettable.
Azurebreak Heroes is a well-balanced RPG roguelite with randomized dungeons and no two playthroughs alike. While the story is lackluster and it might get repetitive, you'll still be able to put plenty of hours into this game.
Battle Hunters is a great RPG that uses the urgency of its plot to create a focused gameplay loop that focuses on fairly strategic combat using a wide array of characters that were mostly throwaway pawns.
Wildfire is a unique stealth game that's fun to play with a friend. With short levels, you can pick up and play this title anywhere.
If you're looking for some exercise, Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise is a good option on the Nintendo Switch. With the Just Dance series stagnating, and Ring Fit Adventure expensive, this is a solid alternative. Even if you aren't a fan of boxing (I'm not), you'll be able to enjoy this sequel.
