War Hospital's anti-war sentiment is commendable, but its gameplay and narrative are simply too lacklustre compared to its contemporaries to make it worth purchasing at full price.
Whilst Cyanide have created a faithful reproduction of the great race, what it brings to the table can hardly be differentiated from the previous versions. Niche as this title may be, I suspect only the absolute die-hards will be picking this one up.
Although Aliens: Dark Descent has the makings of an enjoyable RTS title, its frequently frustrating gameplay mechanics and pointless genre-mashing missions make it a tough sell for anyone besides the most diehard of wannabe Colonial Marines.
For better and worse, After Us is yet another beautiful but otherwise boring and overly artistic game that does very little to advance the medium.
Even though Minecraft Legends isn't a bad game, the fact that it's in direct competition with its much better predecessor makes the title hard to recommend.
Redfall, with its mediocre gameplay, forgettable story and generic visuals, comes closer to destroying Arkane's legacy than it does to being a properly enjoyable video game.
Lightracer Spark's premise is interesting, but its banal story and frustrating gameplay makes the experience feel like just another mediocre Civilization clone.
There's not much below the surface of Planet Cube: Edge should you find its difficulty infuriating. The intense difficulty feels like a shallow way to extend your playtime but if you're like me, you'll find yourself reluctant to keep trying once you've died in the same spot for the twentieth time.
Season's artstyle and gameplay are unique and fun, but because of its forgettable narrative and generic premise, it feels like yet another game that exists solely to win awards from Geoff Keighley.
Police Simulator: Patrol Officers is boring, morally straightforward and passively buggy, but there's still some fun to be found in its simplistic simulator-based gameplay.
When every aspect of Dying Light 2 comes together, it's an experience to behold, but the problem is that it happens so rarely that the game struggles to justify the price of admission.
It lacks purposeful content and engaging mechanics, with many aspects of its core-elements feeling like an afterthought. Its fluid and fast-paced combat is an enjoyable experience stuck in a visual and mechanically dull game, which leaves more to be desired.
Firework's initially creepy premise and relatively engaging puzzles soon give way to a confusing plot that suffers from poor localisation.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition is a lazy attempt at bringing three classic games into the modern era. Visually inconsistent, riddled with bugs and below par in so many other areas, the only thing this collection has going for it is nostalgia and solid foundations.
The Train Simulator series has been showing its age for a long time now. Whilst Dovetail's continued support is admirable it is perhaps time that ties were cut and its energies diverted elsewhere. Whether that's into Train Sim World 2 or an actual successor to Train Simulator is immaterial, but what is clear is that there's not enough bondo in the world to paste over the cracks that are starting to show.
For a game all about revolution, Far Cry 6 does little to evolve the aging series, but at least your dog can ride in your car.
A premise that had me at hello, but a game which I couldn't wait to finish. It's a puzzler with high production values but it doesn't hit the right beats and consequently suffers for it.
Jay and Silent Bob Mall Brawl is a game that so faithfully mimics a classic NES beat 'em up, but lacks the fidelity, attention to detail, or variety of scenarios to fully achieve what it sets out to do.
Hell Let Loose could've been a great game, but because its maps are too big and its community is too upsetting, anyone looking to experience the hell of World War 2 should look elsewhere.
The world of professional cycling was never going to be an easy sport to translate to a game. Cyanide Studios have made this even harder by making a game that seems to appeal only to the sport's keenest of fans at the expense of educating and rewarding the curiosity of new fans to the sport.
