Dull Grey is an award-winning visual novel from Provodnik Games which was originally written in Russian by Roman Vlasov. Let’s get straight to it; was this game a ray of sunshine in my review pile, or was it a cloudy day as the title suggests? Find out below in my Rapid Review.
Tunnel of Doom is a unique take on the roguelike genre. It is a top-down two-dimensional dungeon crawler combined with tower defence. Before enemies start swarming each room, I was able to build defences with the resources I had accumulated throughout my adventure. My love for Doctor Who blossomed with the arrival of David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor, the height of my obsession being when I was around ten years old. I collected the magazines, plastered my bedroom wall in posters and any family members talking through an episode of Doctor Who was sacrilege! Like countless others, this era is full of fond nostalgia.

Lucky’s Tale was one of the first VR platformers, originally released on the Rift in 2016. Immediately becoming a mascot classically aligned to 3D Mario and Banjo-Kazooie style collection games. The story starts off with you being woken up as your best friend Piggy gets kidnapped by a tentacled monster named Glorp.
Super Soccer Blast: America vs Europe is an arcade-style soccer game featuring a bevy of teams representing various countries. This is a by-the-book kind of soccer game; you can shoot, pass, tackle/steal the ball from opposing players. All fizzle and no steak as they’d say. Additionally, you can easily spot your player as he’ll be the one with the blue arrow above his head, so that’s quite helpful given certain visual shortcomings explained below.

My own love affair with the Alien(s) franchise began in my childhood. Supermassive Games is back again for yet another horror-filled adventure. Seed of Life is a semi-open world puzzle platformer from MadLight Games, published by Leonardo Interactive. The game follows Cora, the last known survivor on the planet Lumia, as she seeks to restore life to her dying homeworld. An alien race – the Namurians – had drained its precious Lumium resources and left the planet to perish. After her grandfather fails to return home, and darkness continues to befall the land, she becomes determined to follow in his footsteps and find the ‘Seed of Life’ – a device that holds the key to restoring light and life to Lumia.
My Singing Monsters is a popular mobile game focused on collecting monsters that when put together, make a lovely melody. When I heard they were making the spin-off party game, My Singing Monsters Playground, I was incredibly intrigued. I was looking forward to traditional party game features enhanced by the innovative and unique music that I enjoyed listening to in the original title. Gynoug is a side-scrolling shmup, a.k.a. shoot’em up, which was first released as Wings of Wor way back in 1991 for the SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive. The game tells the story of the angel Wor who must come to the rescue of the Heavens which have been invaded by the demons of Iccus led by the Destroyer.
After getting encapsulated in the wonderful yet horrific world of DUSK, I decided to play something different. Sheepo is a very calming, therapeutic experience. Instead of blasting through hordes of enemies, I learned to carefully manoeuvre the world around me and manipulate the enemies to act under my command. Märchen Adventure Cotton 100% tells the story of Nata de Cotton who comes across Silk, a fairy who’s looking for help as the world fell into darkness. At first, our little heroine is uninterested in helping the fairy in need until Silk tells her that giant Willows, Cotton’s favourite candy, is waiting for her at the other end of the darkness. Without hesitation, Cotton changes her tune and she sets out along Silk to find the cause of the darkness.
