Back in 2021, Outriders launched and I excitedly jumped on as soon as I was able to get it downloaded. I spent the good part of a week levelling up my Trickster build before fatigue took over. I didn’t finish the main story and occasionally I would jump back in for a day or two but there was never enough to keep me engaged. With the release of the Worldslayer DLC, I returned to explore all the new changes, but can it hold my interest longer this time?
Trifox is a top-down action-adventure title where I played as a fox on a journey to reclaim his stolen television remote. I was excited to dive into this title after noticing similarities between it and the Skylanders series in the trailer. Did my excitement hold out for the duration of the game? Find out in this Rapid Review.
LEGO Bricktales promises plenty of physics-based challenges. Is the game a fantastic build or are there a few pieces missing? Find out in this Rapid Review.
Last Days of Lazarus is a first-person adventure game with a strong narrative, rich visuals, and supernatural elements. It is heavily inspired by post-communist Romania’s troubled history, eerie locations, religious beliefs, and strange superstitions. As the story unravels, you’ll meet questionable characters whose corrupted version of the truth you’ll need to navigate. Considering this troubled past, you’ll struggle not only with solving the mysteries laid upon you but also with keeping alive any sliver of hope for salvation.
Snowfall is little and often in England. When I was younger, I remember many snow days filled with snowball fights and trips to the local countryside. We would build snowmen and have sledge rides. These days, with our friend global warming, we don’t get snow days as thick and heavy as they were a few years ago. However, there is one way to enjoy snow these days: from the comfort of your own home, surrounded by warmth!
Nintendo 64 gamers will remember the platformer classics like Super Mario 64 or Banjo Kazooie, and remember the good old days of playing those games. AAA companies and also Indie games are trying to go back to the old collectathon days, with games like Super Mario Odyssey and Yooka-Laylee. Today, I focus my review on Siactro’s new game called: Super Kiwi 64.
Looking up at the night sky often brings thoughts of what it would be like to go into space. While humanity has reached out into the cold dark, we’ve not physically been any further than our own Moon. With the first manned mission to Mars still years away, it falls to comic books, television shows, and video games to open this expanse. As such, we often get tales of daring heroes who battle alien threats or craft their own stories as hot-shot pilots.
Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef is a side-scrolling action platformer. The premise is simple. Someone stole from the main character, and I must do everything in my power to get that item back. Was the experience any fun? Find out in this Rapid Review.
Ten Million Copies sold in just 3 days. Just let that soak in. Its quite unbelievable to comprehend that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have just broken Nintendos all time sales records. You’d have had to be living on a different planet not to know the absolute phenomenon that is the world of Pokemon.
RWBY, pronounced as Ruby, is a series created by Roosterteeth and has been around for a long time now. It has hit every market possible, from merchandise, comics, board games, manga, and even an actual anime adaption. However, RWBY has been waiting for their own game for a long time. Roosterteeth tried making an in-house game called RWBY Grimm Eclipse which was passable at best. Ever since then, RWBY has been a part of other video game crossovers, like Smite, and one of the 4 fates of BlazBlue: Cross Tag battle.
Back in 2017, the Mario and Rabbids announcement was a bit of a shock, not least a gamble on behalf of Ubisoft, who combined one of gaming’s greatest icons with one of its most irritating spinoffs. Well, boy do we have something for you! Its sequel has recently been released, bringing more Minion-like antics to the mushroom kingdom, and beyond.
There are few games out there that wear their heart on their sleeve quite like Oddworld does. The clue is quite literally in the name with this franchise: it’s a rather odd world. Since the late 90’s, Abe has featured on our screens no matter what the era or the console generation. The gameplay and mechanics may have changed somewhat, but at its core, the Oddworld premise has remained constant.
Googling Ragnarok before “Santa Monica Studio” announced their sequel to the incredibly received God of War (2018), you’d see a flurry of Marvel references or even Wikipedia pages devoted to Norse mythologies version of the Apocolypse. Now you google Ragnarok, and most links, news, and images all refer to the incredible 2022 God of War: Ragnarok.
Smurfs Kart is a traditional kart racer featuring the charming and exciting Smurfs. Did this licensed title leave a smurfing good impression? Or was I hoping for more? Find out in this Rapid Review.
God Damn the Garden is a first-person shooter with a lot of bullet hell influences. When we got the code for this game, I was incredibly excited to try it out. I like first-person shooters and thought the game looked good when I looked at the trailer. Did the game live up to my expectations? Find out in this Rapid Review.
Plagues, rats, war, illness, death and rats again. No, this is not a shopping list of everything needed for a great Halloween party, this is 14th-century France, and this is Amicia and Hugo’s story. Not just that, this is an adventure with so much to explore across islands that are shrouded in mystery, fantasy and grief.
At the world’s most southern point, wrapped around the south pole, you will find Antarctica. Also known as the world’s fifth-largest continent. It may not be the biggest, but it is most certainly the coldest in the world. You wouldn’t think that a land mass being 98% of thick ice, would hold many tales that are worth telling. However, developer State of Play has taken this beautiful blank snowy canvas and created one of the greatest stories of 2022.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the culmination to over twelve years of storytelling that was started back in 2010 with Xenoblade Chronicles. Part of the wider ‘Xeno’ series of RPGs, this relatively unknown series has since gone from obscurity to becoming one of Nintendo’s big-hitters. With the premise of another massive world to explore – and a story that aims to tie-up the loose ends of Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Xenoblade Chronicles 3 already had an air of anticipation around its release.
Penko Park is a first-person exploration title focused on taking pictures of creatures that inhabit an abandoned wildlife park. I had never played a game like this one before so I was both curious and excited to see how my first experience in the genre panned out. If you are as curious as I was, look at this Rapid Review.
Bayonetta 3 is a stylized three-dimensional beat-em-up featuring the popular character Bayonetta. Despite being the third entry in this beloved series, this is my first encounter with the franchise, so I was both excited and curious to see what the hype was all about. Did the game justify itself to me? Find out in this Rapid Review.
